Really we need a way for people to achieve it by either score, time, or a combination of both. Because after a certain point it just becomes ridiculous. An avid forum browser who has been around for 7 years but still only has like 1.5bil because they suck and don't want to play much is definitely a Veteran. Similarly, someone who has been around 1 and a half years but already has 5bil is probably ready for Vet status too.

Or <230 avrank achieved in less than a year of actual playing, for example, or hundreds of tiers achieved in just a few days.

GT and join date are pretty much THE two stupidest ways to tell if someone's a vet lol. Either the requirements should be changed, or the title "Veteran" should be changed to something less implying of skill, like "FFR Parasite" or "Dude Who Likes Forums" or something. Or keep Veteran the way it is, and make a new title that actually describes good players, so they can have something too.

But I would say the skill requirements of vet should be lower. There's a weird unspoken consensus among disgustingly good top-tier players here that anyone who can't AAA an FMO is an amateur, but let's face it, anyone who can full combo a VC is already pretty ****ing beast tbh. I don't feel like Veteran status should be something that takes more than 90 or 100 hours to get. That's almost enough time to make flawless endgame files in a lot of RPGs. If the reason the status even exists is to recognize outstanding skill, the requirements really are bullshit.

An idea for new veteran req, something a bit more complicated.

Grand Total Score = A (billions)
        Membership Duration = B (years)
Post Count = C (kilo posts)

        [Veteran]

        A > 1 and B > 1 and C > 0.5

        and

        A + B*2 + C*2 > 10

        [Super Veteran]

        A > 3 and B > 3 and C > 2

        and

        A + B*2 + C*2 > 30

We definitely can use more parameters for this, but averank, AAAs, FCs are quite variable so it would be difficult to use these parameters for vereran reqs I think.

Adding in more easily available non-gameplay requirements for a status that has almost universally gameplay-related perks seems more like non-avid players will earn veteran status and then be upset when all they get that is at all relevent to them is a blue name and access to a mostly dead forum.

              ^this.

how about 2 classes: Forumtard status, and Avid Player status. Veteran should have little to nothing to do with the forums. I understand there are players who lurk the forums, and I might get flak for this, but it's kinda their fault if they choose not to play because they "suck" (I used to get flustered playing excite bike, years ago, but look at me now. hehe)

Can you remake all the skins you added as vector graphics? Velocity noteskin especially. For people who play in standalone, it looks like utter crap when you resize the window, one of the main reasons I still use the regular noteskin.

Also, Dendrite is easily my favorite legacy song... CAN WE PLEASE GET SUPPORT TOKENS BACK? OMFG.

I will look at including vector noteskins in the new system, as it sounds like Flash performance will be improving drastically. If the lag of relocating vectors isn't too extreme then I will give options for Vector or bitmap format skin / noteskins.

                    Re: FFR Suggestions

Okay, Dev's, I have a major suggestion. I know it's been brought up before but I really think you should consider it. We have a Facebook page, and though it isn't updated much, it's a start. We NEED to get an FFR Application on Facebook. It can be basic, it can be a teaser with few songs, it really doesn't matter, but it would be a HUGE step forward in reaching out to people who don't play FFR. Because the Facebook world is so massive already and still growing, it's got as much publicity as we could ever want if we use it. Zuckerburg is still making changes to the site, and has been changing the way that Apps are ran and their interaction with people's feeds, and that sort of stuff and I really think sometime soon is a good time to get this up and running. We had a [pathetic, but working] app on Kongregate for FFR for a while, but it would be infinitely more publicized on Facebook if people could find it through that networking web/mess.

Quite honestly if the Fb one went up I would assume it would be usable for Kongregate as well as far as code goes, unless I'm severely mistaken.

one time access to the various sound boards 2000 credits etc
idk how much you can put in a prochat shop.

                            Re: FFR Suggestions

I just noticed the idea of using ITG style graphs. Here's a slightly better one:

The little snippet of blue gradient is indicative of a full fantastic combo, and the orange gradient is indicative of a full excellent combo. Being that FFR's lifebar system has practically zero passing difficulty, it doesn't seem efficient to show a lifebar.

On top of that, maybe it would be possible to have a squared graph from start to finish, showing what your judgments are. Quick little drawing here...

It basically displays your timing on every step, and your deviations from the perfect window. Every step is either early, or late, with the except of the middle frame of the perfect window. So, if you end up with a late perfect, your chart will fill in for the middle perfect window, and the late perfect window as well. If you end up with an extremely late good, you'll fill in all the way to the top of the graph. If you hit an average, you'll fill from the middle perfect frame down through all of the earlier timing windows.

And finally, if you miss, you miss the entire thing - so I just decided to put a huge red block that covers the entire thing. A miss has no defined timing to it.

I was considering making this graph readable in two different ways by taking a person's boo count and have it ascend up the y-axis, with the top value being the person's boo count (so, if you have 13 boos, your 13th boo will touch the top of the graph). Boos would have been plotted, and then lines connected, for a better visual representation.

These sound reasonable. Idk why I made them so high when we discussed it LOL.
