This may just end up being taken as pointless ranting, and I swear I am not trying to sound like a dick by saying this.

But my suggestion is freaking update the main page more, giving us reasons why stuff is not being released on time(shirts, avmiss fix),not just throwing a contest every week. Or throw the contest, AND give us information. If nothing else, just give us information on what has been going on.

For example:
Hey, the new t-shirts have been delayed. It may be a while longer. K thanks.

More than anything, it's annoying having to search through the forums and seeing a myriad of threads created saying "Why isn't avmiss fix public yet?"

Just, at least post something on the front page about what the progress on everything is, be it new shirt designs, or avmiss fix. That way, 1, you don't have to answer the same question a million times, and 2, it's not exactly wonderful hearing about something that was supposed to be released Easter week that we haven't had a word on the front page about why it was delayed.

I kind of agree with you. I am getting angry that we are left in the dark about the avmiss fix. It's three weeks overdue; we deserve at least an explanation. In addition, the front page hardly ever gets news updates, so that would be nice.

However, sometimes there is no news to report on, I don't think it's fair to expect news every week or less. Just pointing that out.

No, what gets me is that they have time to throw contests but not give us an update. That's all. If nothing was getting updated, that would be one thing. But contests are randomly being thrown, updates about widgets, but nothing about avmiss. Nothing about the new shirts. Even just saying "Nothing new to report" at the end of a contest is fine. Just say it. But since word has YET to be thrown out about either shirts or avmiss's, then I get slightly ticked. I understand they put a ton of work into this site, and I am VERY grateful. But, is asking for an update about something that happened nearly a month asking too much?

You make a good point. The belated fix and shirts are incrementally pissing people off, and FFR should know that if it reaches a boiling point, people might start to leave or something. We deserve an explanation considering this was promised to us. Contests are good and all, but if there is news to be placed by it, then do so at least.

i know exactly how you feel dude. trust me, no one is any more angry about this then i am. ive been pming tass countless times about avmiss. The only answer i get is "ive answered your question all over the site", and then afterwards he ignored my pms.

So something is going on that the admins dont want us to know. its the only explanation. But if they wanna stop all this rioting on the forums, they should give us some update about avmiss.

I agree as well. I haven't heard news about those new FFR t-shirts in months. They haven't talked about it in so long that I feel as if those t-shirts were canceled in production.

I wish the administration would enlighten us as to what's happening 'round here. I could care less about contests.

"Hey, FFR, we know you want the avmiss fix to be public, but we've got Xelius and other admins working through the bugs so that we can get the randomizer, and the favorite genre to work just right for you guys." (Hypothetical situation, I don't know if this is actually the case.)

I'm with you, Mystic. I'd like to know what's going on too. I don't care if the avmiss fix is delayed, just tell me WHY it's delayed and I'll relax.

How long does it take just to say " Hey avmiss fix is being delayed due to(insert reason) and should be out by (insert date). Shirts are being delayed due to (reason) should be in by (date).

Or how about how long it took Tass to type the information for the contest, and go through all the choices. Instead could he not have spent that time explaining the situation?

Uhm, Tass told everyone that the beta would be released before the FMO/FGO event. Something went wrong, and everyone griped at Tass for the beta not being released. If they gave a time, and something goes wrong. Everyone will complain either way. It's just better to not tell anyone anything than have to worry about a deadline. I'm sure you have had a problem when turning in an assignment in school, I.e. research paper. Your printer messes up and you cannot make the deadline. Everything goes wrong at the last second.

Also, programming is not that simple. If you add something to your code, it could work perfectly, but most likely it will clash with something. You have to find simple errors like a missing semi-colon or a misspelled variable name.

Biggest mistake you can make. Now that Tass told us the fix would be out by the end of the FMO/FGO simfile event, but wasn't, everybody is pissed off and rioting in the forums. Without it they can't say "well it was supposed to be out by X and wasnt!!!!!!", and thus they don't have as much of a reason to be angry. Give a vague estimate at best, but not specific dates.

I was just countering Dev's response of the contest.

And I do understand programming is NOT a simple process. I took a class on it. It is not easy at all. I just want to know what is going on. That's all. Some people will complain yes, but a lot of people just want to know what is actually going on. I don't care that is being delayed, like Foil said, I just want to know WHY, and have updates on it every now and then. I'd rather it be delayed if they are perfecting it honestly, just let me know. That's all.

I hope something is done with the NEWS thing I want something new to see in FFR everynow and then that just takes a few secs to read.

Knowing some of the mods do this.
It makes us feel that well we dont have word in the community. It has happened to me.

You should make a poll for this or something
