Why does every song level 9 or higher must have jumps in the streams???? I'm just really curious....

Re: Songs?
Not every song does...but they're a lot more frequent because you're at a higher difficulty. Also, jumps are often the product of arrows going to multiple instruments in the music simultaneously. You can't expect linear steps as you play harder songs. This isn't DDR.Last edited by bmah; 01-29-2012, 10:07 PM.Comment

Re: Songs?
Well the jumps in the streams in probably what makes the file a 9 or higher in the first place since it adds a bit of difficulty. Also, the jumps aren't there randomly, they are usually placed on emphasized beats of the stream.AMA: http://ask.fm/benguino

Re: Songs?
Which charts like that are mainly for one-handed or spread players.....Which is sort of unfair to the index and three fingered players...I'm just saying they need to add more arrows and less jumps.Originally posted by justin_atorTaking out jumps in streams removes difficulty, if you want to keep difficulty without jumps, you end up with charts like Rave7, Reality, Eclipse (Solar), and Freedom DiVE...Believing you're a guy when actually your a girl.Comment

Re: Songs?
This is just a silly uniformed statement. No offense intended.
This song has a massive jumpstream in it are you nuts?Originally posted by justin_atorFreedom DiVE...
Pretty much what Bmah said in short.
But if you asked me: I gather from you even asking this you play index style. What sucks now days, is that index friendly charts pretty much never would make it through today's batch anymore [especially] at a higher difficulty because the recent stepping meta is Technicality > Everything.
At least this is how I see it.
Edit: In light of your recent post:
Putting charts into the game is not about being fair to peoples play styles. If this was the case we'd have more charts like MAMA that are complete shit (sorry Hi19) lurking in this game being stupid and wrecking ranks. Though I will say I guess that point of view has some merit being that the largest portion of charts appeals to those of us who play spread.
On a final note: As an ex Indexer myself, I understand exactly why you're asking such things. It's frustrating to know that you play a unique style that adds a new perspective to the game, and it's really unfortunate that there are less charts that cater to Index to keep it a viable style. Sadly I can only tell you this: You're forced into playing spread. The only thing to do now days is suck up whatever excuse you need to switch to spread and do it.Last edited by Xx{Midnight}xX; 01-29-2012, 10:28 PM.Comment

Re: Songs?
Jumpstream exists in DDR, so why not FFR? From glancing over this thread, it seems you are getting a little butthurt from a new skill that you are uncomfortable with. Not sure how to word this, but my advice: just think as the jumps as part of the stream. If you really want blah stream files, there are charts that pertain to this. iirc, I think Delirium is one of them.Last edited by PrawnSkunk; 01-29-2012, 10:27 PM.Comment

Re: Songs?
I have played DDR for about 8 years and In the Groove for about 5 years and not once have i ever seen a jumpstream....The point i'm trying to get across is the step artists should not focus on one style of play.....More people would actually play the song more than once if it didn't have jumps within a 32nd burst of stream.Believing you're a guy when actually your a girl.Comment

If we had 4 feet, we'd have jumpstream in DDR/ITG.I have played DDR for about 8 years and In the Groove for about 5 years and not once have i ever seen a jumpstream....The point i'm trying to get across is the step artists should not focus on one style of play.....More people would actually play the song more than once if it didn't have jumps within a 32nd burst of stream.

Ah, I guess you're not as good at deciphering emotions as I thought. Psych 101.
OP, if you want less jumpstreams give SM a try. There are many index-based packs that are speedy without jumpstreams.Какой идиот придумал Бутерброд с дикобраза? Он хулиган и бездельник.Comment
