I think Rain should be a 11. Really, the stream isn't even that fast, and there are plenty of other 11s with trills about that speed. Honestly, if you can't hit them, then you just suck at this game and should work on your speed. I don't even know why there's a debate, this song is really easy and the only difficulty at all is the length, which is probably why nobody's bothered to AAA yet.

I do suck, I really, really wish people would just tell me that, it would make my aggravation SO much easier to deal with. It feels like everyone knows every other competitive player is much better, but they say I'm good, almost mockingly to troll me. It's like there's a big joke and I'm the only one who's not in on it.

Well objectively speaking, considering that a normal human being can't even FC a VC, you are definitely good at this game. People have this tendency to just let the top 1% of all people represent the entire site.

Thank you. So now everyone knows I suck. Then can I be treated like I'm at that skill level so I can actually work on it appropriately? I just get so discouraged when I'm pushed above and through my skill ceiling so I can't get better, but everyone sees me ahead of my true skill. Even 2 years ago with Holy Orders, I was probably worse at this game then I am now. I'm done. I'll work on my speed, but now you guys know, I suck, so quit lumping me ahead of people that mop the floor with me, it really wants to make me quit the game. If we told a D2 player he was D4 material and laughed at him for saying otherwise because he had one VD AAA and one VC SDG, he'd be pretty discouraged too.

this thread had 2 points, one, to get an answer to the post 4+ days ago in the ingame song discussion thread, which seems to be dead. Second point was to possibly vent some of my frustration and hopefully be told I'm not good. 2nd point was to vent, but you can close the thread now, I just kinda needed to vent. I am really frustrated about my wall. And there won't be a thread on Freedom Dive, I can't play it cause' I was out round 2

I wish I couldn't play one FGO, the game would be much simpler then and more fun. I said in the other thread, noobs are important, and we love you guys. Being a noob is wonderful, you have a goal, and tons of room for improvement and shouldn't hit a wall for a long, long time. I've been stuck at a skill wall for 2 years, and if it's not my computer (which I play on a shitty, glitchy, freezy laptop that has half broken keys) then my physical ability has a limit.

You have a long time to enjoy the game before you're angry about walls. You have no idea how jealous I am of you, I used to love this game. Now it's a stress reliever, and a stress producer, it's very strange. I feel most at ease when mashing keys for an hour, but after 2 I start to rage.

Look, I really don't want to be an annoying dick on this forum (I definitely won't on the Indeed forums I promise), it's just I have very little room to vent irl and I have a very stressful, serious lifestyle that puts lots of pressure on me. I've also had to give up on hanging with friends and playing general video games recently to concentrate on other subjects. I am very serious most of the time so occasionally I really, really need to be immature and rant, unfortunately, this is the place I feel most comfortable doing that, because I'm passionate about FFR, and yet it frustrates me, so it's really easy to get out both emotions. Sorry guys, I know I must really piss you guys off, but sometimes i just need to get stupid shit like this out. Stuff frustrates me, right now scores on Rain do. That's all. You can delete the thread and hopefully like for the last few weeks, I will make very few posts, and they won't be long either.

stavie, you're waaaaaaay too determined to find out exactly where you lie in terms of rank on the site. I think you're under the impression that a player with the n'th best avrank on the site is the n'th best at PA'ing streams, the n'th best at PA'ing jacks, the n'th best at PA'ing jumpstream, etc., which is clearly not the case at all.

People have different strengths and weaknesses, just accept that and move on.

Practice on Cetaka's RAIN file for a while (has jumpstream in the 32nds, same length). Then play the one in the game, it'll be easier and maybe feel a bit slower because of your hands being more used to the enraging jumpstream in Cetaka's.

I did, for like 3 weeks. I thought I'd quit for good, but I came crawling back. Smashing keys is like a drug, it feels good, and it also puts me into a drunken frenzy.

Also, OWA, that reminded me to check my averagerank, last time I saw it it was like 7.6, now it's 9.8 But you're right, I've told my friends this too who view my rank. My average rank may be 10, but overall skill I wouldn't even put me in top 40, maybe not even top 50. People are good at different things, I'm good at very technical files with bursts and minijacks, and I'm bad at very fast and dense files, and I'm awful at one handed anything. Also, Reality is just a blunder to me as well, I can play it 5 times in a row and get scores anywhere from 2 goods to 40 goods with no explanation, it still happens.

Streams are only slightly faster than Reality, and the patterns are a little awkward for me but very easy to read. idk

Actually, Rain is 128 bpm which would make for 256 bpm 16ths, it's slightly slower than Reality.

Probably the reason for no AAAs yet is that it's long, and the best/most active players are still focused on the tournament.

1) Horrendous frames in the streams. The good in my run came from a frame split in the first long 32nd stream.

2) Being a long file is also a factor, but the frames are more of a concern

And stavie, would you stop fucking basing "difficulty" off of AAAs? If I thought like you, I'd say Death Piano is a 12 because I AAA'd every part in isolation. Rain isn't suddenly "hard" just because I split a good on a bad frame messed stream. Xayphon also has 1 good/boo, it could've just as easily been an AAA and Halogen managed to get 3g clean on his first run I think. Objectively the file is very doable and nowhere near 13 status, but the amount of concentration and bad frame placements makes it a high 12.

Rain is nowhere near a 13. It's got streams that are really easy and flowing, and the trills are more than manageable. Length is the only reason why it's even remotely difficult as a 12.

I've yet to give it a serious try warm, I got 3g completely cold as my first full game of that day. (Still sitting as an unrecorded score, but I refuse to send it because it's an easy AAA for me when warm.)

EDIT: and in case someone says I'm talking about of my ass:
First two runs were fail-outs within the first 50 steps due to me leaving things open and facing serious lag, the third run was a lag out at like 450, and then this:


it's not hard at all.

EDIT: and oddly enough, I actually have somewhat of an agreement with qqwref, not because he said that the file is an 11, but moreso that he believes it is an 11 because of what's contained within it. The only reason I personally feel like the file is a 12 is because of the stream length, and song length. I don't like the rest of the content within that post, so I'll leave it be.

Dossar says it's a high FGO. I say it's a low FGO - and everyone will always have a different opinion.
