Invest in a good uninterruptible power supply (UPS). Not only will it help during those power outages, but your computer will thank you during the other times when it smoothes out electrical spikes, adjusts the voltage so it's more stable, and such. Plus your UPS will alert you to if your building is incorrectly wired (at least for the outlet you are using).

Oh yeah, for the first few weeks of use, it will have a smell to it (or at least mine did). It was a very heavy electronics type smell, like you were in a factory or something. That smell will go away over time and isn't anything wrong with the UPS. If the smell bothers you (it is quite strong), I recommend keeping the area aired out for a while. You probably don't want it in your bedroom for example. I say this because I didn't find this info posted anywhere online (on the other hand, if it's a rotten egg smell, that means the battery in your UPS needs immediate replacing)

I think every single post you've made has been nothing but mlp.

Just curious, because I'm fine with most ponies but it's the ones who show no sign of conscious thought outside of the show that bothers me.

You're only making it worse on yourself by continuing to try and argue.. just leave it at the minimal amount of mlp for yourself, and ask for someone to take it down if it's out-of-place in another thread.

Also, I don't think you get that he's probably around 13 years old..

I'm fine with a healthy debate, but keep it under control. I think most people want to move on now. I also can pull something out of hammerspace called the "banhammer" if anyone cares to try. :)
