Well, they kind of are, no one would expect such a huge fan-base over a show made for 5 year old girls, nor want to even take a peek at it, so people commonly flip their shit when the mention of ponies is brought up to them. It's sort of becoming a complex for people now, seeing how huge the fan-base has grown and how far it has spread.

I still don't understand the MLP fandom, but I'm not going to mock anyone because of that. People have their own interests, and I have mine's. It's all good to me.

I've watched the first two episodes and didn't really catch onto it. I've been later told that any episode but the first two are good representations of what people like about the show. Something about episodes after that where the show really picks up, or so I've heard. *shrugs*

Every pony person I see outside of this site is a complete asshole and for some reason thinks pony fandom people somehow outrank furry fandom people.

No, it's not called for. I can understand people not knowing what the big deal is, but posting that is either doing one of two things.
a.) Getting a rise out of people who look at this thread and enjoy the show.
b.) Putting minimal effort to figure out what the show is really about.

The post could have been phrased as a question, such as "Why does everybody like this show so much?" Instead, it was simply attacking us for enjoying a show, and conversing with others who enjoy it as well. As far as I have seen, nobody on FFR has tried to force the show down people's throats, so it is therefore unprovoked.

How exactly do you expect us to control everybody in the MLP fandom (or any fandom for that matter)? This is a completely unreasonable expectation.

I just checked that last 6 pages of the official tournament thread. There was one pony picture. Besides, nobody is harassing you to watch the show.

Um the only place I see ponies are the avatars and this thread.

If you don't like ponies you could always just not look at the thread in the first place.
With the avatars, you could say that about everybody.
I don't get why everybody complains about people with pony avatars, when there's tons of avatars of furries or anime/japanese characters. Where's all the butthurt for anime

Hey people, just relax and avoid becoming too defensive.

My "minimal effort to find out what the show is about", so to speak, is simply just a product of my disinterest and has nothing to do with lazyness on discovering a potentially ~enriching experience~. I am sure there is a reason why this show rings the right tone for a lot of people - I won't dismiss that. What more can I say. Love your fellas, love everyone.

There's always a converse argument that can be made, but you're just going to run into vicious circles.
