Now that you mention it, I've seen MMORPGs with foreign language boards but FFR and Keybeat don't have any haha

Yes this is what im talking about. Create a new forum section for different language and possibly in profile chat to.

Yeah MMORPGs are definitally big on being a global community.

Besides global community = better for you better for me.

        Re: Abusive Mods.

I really don't even think there's a need to segregate languages by making exclusive forums for them. It's not a matter of partitioning differences like men and women bathrooms. Just integrate language into the community as a whole.

Guaranteed there's less than 1% chance you'll see a thread where someone messes around with you in a different language just for the heck of it. There's overall little confusion - in fact, I think "confusion" is more of a poor excuse to legitimize the rule.

Its not segregation. In fact in is a centripetal force. If people can go into different language board forums, they will attempt to interact more and become more diversified in there language. Also by doing this people who speak different languages will respect the community as a whole even more. It is not confusion either, you should really look into the ruling in which velocity posted. It is cleary not defined well enough for a large community.

Well since I don't fluently speak a second language I can't say for sure whether separate forums are viewed as appreciative or unnecessary and implicit. Most of the time, I see foreign language being used in profile walls freely, since people can make personal chats to other peers who share their language.

And yes, there is little to no confusion regarding language. However, Velocity's link is more largely related to fluency in communication like spelling and grammar - that should be a given of course. Language itself shouldn't be a confusion issue really. Anybody who has a different primary language would try his or her best to converse in the language that the majority of people are speaking anyways. As I said before, this shouldn't be a rule, but an obvious thing to do.

Well there is the overall issue, you dont fluently speak another language you would not understand. As for trying to converse in english. The inverse should be applied as well, AGAIN AS I KEEP SAYING, english speakin people should attempt to converse in another language ITS GOOD FOR THEM. Makes you a wee' bit smarter

Agreed. And people of a different language are probably smart enough to know when they're on "foreign land", language-wise. So they'll try their best to communicate in English, whatever quality that may be. Hence a rule that relates to something quite basic is unnecessary. That's my actual point.

Don't those rules in Velocity's link only apply to the forums? Technically there are no rules against conversing with someone in a foreign language via profile messages. So I'm still confused as to why you were banned in the first placed.

Nonetheless, I agree with Velocity. I think those rules are far outdated and could most definitely use revision.
