I bite my nails, so sometimes I bite em too short and i notice that if it hurts I can't play, otherwise I have no problems at all

Unlike Tass, I don't have to deal with the left middle finger for bowling because of index. I prefer long nails though because it's less surface area for me so I can slide to other arrows because of less friction force dealt. (Yes, I prefer a certain length, because then they start to break, and that's not fun)

I agree with the nails thing, but my nails are longer than some of the girls fingernails now and I'm only having a problem with finger tripping (because of my nails).

Oh, and I haven't cut my nails in 1 1/2 months (just to see how it's like)

EDIT: oh, the length of my nails right now aren't that bad and they are relatively clean in comparison to other people who have nails as long as mine.

I always thought of making this thread, but thought it would be weird. XD

i've noticed that if my fingernails are too long, i don't play as well. but if i cut then REALLY short, i don't play as well either... plus it hurts my fingers.

But ya, i agree Tass. If I have mine too long, my nails slip on the keys and i mess up, but if they are too short, then the newly cut edges dig into the corners of my fingers and it is painful to play.

I bite my nails also, so if they're too long, I just bite them off. Plus I hate the way my nails feel then they hit the keys, that's really annoying.

As everyone else said, I hate the fact that I get pain when they're too long. That's when my fingernails to be clipped.

On a somewhat related subject, has anyone gotten rid of the arrow on the arrow keys while playing FFR (before mapping keys)? Like, when you play, the label is being "erased"? I have erased the right arrow key.

I don't really notice the difference of having long fingernails when playing FFR. It's certainly noticeable when I play the piano though - sometimes, a nail can fall between piano keys. That hurts. x(

If my fingernails are too long, I have to adjust my playing style by curving my fingers less, hitting the keys with the flat part of my fingertips. If my nails are cut very short, I can hit the keys with the tips of my fingers. In short, short fingernails = better gameplay for me.

I bit my nails a bit too enthusiastically yesterday, then played some FFR. After a couple of games a looked at my keyboard and there was blood all over the a and s keys XD

I have tape on my keys that I play with because I have worn the plastic down so much. Parts of the letters started to chip off too.

I played for a very long time with my arrow keys as well, and you can actually see where I have engraved the plastic with the pressure of my fingers. It's pretty intense.

0.o, I always have long nails, except when I rarely cut them, or pick them.

Though I hit the keys with my fingers, not the tips of my fingers, so I have nothing to worry about anyways.

I used to get annoyed at my fingernails so i would grab the nearest scissors and cut my index nails off. Consequently this would make them uneven from the others later on. This was only an issue when playing index though.

Holy crap, I took a look at my keys and they are going in the process of chipping off (and the keyboard is dented around the arrow keys) lol

sounds like a bunch of you guys need to take nail clipping lessons so you dont cut them to short....seriously its not that hard xD
