To get better, its best taking 2 hands and spread, I did at least.

      Btw, a good spread layout is A S K L.

I play with two. It feels a little easier to play with two hands than just one. You have a finger on each arrow so pressing each arrow is faster.

When I started playing Stepmania, I started out on medium songs. I used two hands, when I tried heavy I gotten better. So yeah, try spread, it's easier to work with two hands except it's a little hard to get jumpstreams. So try and practice.

I've never had issues with one hand. It just takes a while to get better, at least it does for me(but then my way of getting better is just strange), but you will feel better about it when you're good enough to pwn two handed people. Can't say much about AAAing things when one handed though. Maybe i just have terrible timing. I'd say keep it the same.

Trust me, stay one-hand. I've been playing it for a while and my timing got improved. Just pratice on the songs that you have trouble on FCing it and your timing gets better in a while

if you have a laptop, 1 hand is okay, but 2 hands is the way to go if you have a big chunky old keyboard with keys sticking out.

You don't have to switch, just learn spread and two handed, i rarely play two handed and i'm currently learning spread. One hand sucks for jumpstreams

Why does everyone say jumpstreams are difficult one-handed? When I was one-handed, jumpstreams were one of the easiest patterns to do for me.

If you have a new keyboard that doesn't recognize three letter or more at one time, then try the layout: Z X numpad2 and numpad3

Spread is definately the way to go. I could barely FC Beethoven's virus one-handed but managed to FC The Games We Played Parts 1 and 3 within a month of switching to spread.

I played 1-handed for over 2 years. My best friend played 2. He got a helluva lot better than me. I finally gave into 2 and in a few weeks was doing things I never dreamed of 1-handed. I strongly suggest switching. Btw I use the generic ASKL, they work very well.

Yeah, stay one handed. That's how you are guarenteed to get really good at this game.

Just ask all of the one handed tier-ranked players.

....Oh wait, that's right. There are NONE.

If you want to get really really good at FFR, there's no way you can do it using one hand. Switch to spread, or mabye even index for a while.

I played one handed, then index, and then spread. It's a natural progression, and if you plan to be good at this game you will eventually switch to two handed play.
