Re: Why cant I AAA anything?????
It might not seem like any help, but just like other people said, whore it some more. It's just a straight up manner of practice. I did a lot of practice with Stepmania and when I came back to play FFR, I was naturally getting better scores.

Re: Why cant I AAA anything?????
I forgot to mention it really helped me in Stepmania when I shrunk the timing windows to make it harder to get perfects. When you switch it back after a lot of practice on that setting, your timing should be a lot better. It also helps to play with clap assists too.

Re: Why cant I AAA anything?????
Practicing will help you get better at a song, but I find that playing it constantly usually doesn't help that much. I give it about three tries, or three score submissions (sometimes I abort if I screw up in some easy part I should have gotten), and then stop, coming back to it another time. I'll get frustrated if I try too many times and don't get better, which is counter-productive.
FWIW, I'd suggest practicing it for a while, then do other songs, and repeat. Start with some of the easiest songs, maybe with the fewest arrows so you have less chances to get goods, and do your best. Trying to relax can help, too. Try not to focus on only getting perfects because you might tense up and mess up because of that. Try to stay loose and play like always. It's hard for me to do, but I try. I have gotten some PCs/AAAs on the easiest songs, but it's hard for me to repeat them at will. It's hard to not make a little mistake somewhere, especially if the perfect timing window is small. (I don't know how small it actually is, I'm just saying that it is limited compared to what counts as successfully hitting the arrow.) Good luck with it.
Essentially retired now, but still ranked on the list of FFR's Top One Handers.

and the ABSOLUTE winner.... FFR thong with "Too Tight" across the front. the back would also work, but then it wouldn't be a thong.

Re: Why cant I AAA anything?????
screenshrink, theres tons of threads about it, go read one, and practice with it, dont just give up and say its too hard, because it will eliminate 50-90% of "goods" you get on any song, but above all else, PRACTICEComment

Re: Why cant I AAA anything?????
That throws me off when I play in SM, I think because I get confused between trying to follow the song and trying to follow the rhythmic patterns of the claps. I think it's because I have a strange ability of finding sims that are synced horribly. How does the ticker help you?Originally posted by nestlekwikIt also helps to play with clap assists too.
I agree. I used to get all worried about screwing up and I'd get pissed off, but I finally learned after a while that getting pissed off was just making my arms hurt worse, so I calmed down and tried to enjoy the game. That made things a lot easier.Originally posted by DronakTry not to focus on only getting perfects because you might tense up and mess up because of that. Try to stay loose and play like always.
Something I've been playing around with that I want to share. Try playing really difficult songs for a while. Then go back and play the one you want to AAA. It's like a "snake pit" effect that's been working for me; thought you might want to try it too.
