Sometimes I tap my foot in time with the music, but it doesn't always help. I think it depends on the step file and how good I am at each particular song.

Try playing really difficult songs for a while. Then go back and play the one you want to AAA. It's like a "snake pit" effect that's been working for me; thought you might want to try it too.

I tend to do that, too. When I can't do well on the middle level songs I'm working on, I switch to really hard songs that I expect to do pooly on. When I do, it's what I expected, and when I somehow manage to improve my personal best, it's a pleasant surprise. Many times, playing those really hard songs makes my hand/arm get tired or sore pretty fast, so I have to stop playing for a while (which is often the rest of the day), and I don't go back to the easier songs. So I'm not sure how much it would help, but I'd say it's worth a try.

took me 2 and a half years to get my first AAA and it was on go go go power rangers lol

I find that not thinking about the AAA helps a bit.

On some of the easier songs, my PA is better with index than spread so I would index them even though I don't use it much for example: I could AAA'd snowflakes with index but not spread for some reason. You know how when you mess up useing bar on easier songs on pad? I think its kinda liek that with FFR but different. It's probably just me though.

Its just im all "OMG IM GONNA AAA THIS FINALLY!!1one!!" and then i get a good in the 170`171st arrow. i should be getting all perfects though because mario is perfectly synced and im a musician and i should be good at finding the beat.
Screenshrinking: cant use when going for AAA cause then i dont know when I get a good, or 3. =/

Oh I know. I was ONE friggin good from AAA soul shift today. Don't tap your foot or anything cuz that gets distracting while you're doing arrows. I also suggest a screen shrink. And when you play, do NOT look at the combo score as that will distract you. Keep your full attention on the arrows so you hit them at the right moment as best you can. For the easier songs I tend to rush so I find the beats then subdivide them in my mind into eigth notes or sixteenths. It helps if you play an instrument or something and have to count all the time anyway.

Hmmm double posting is really frowned on, but triple posting is kool.


On topic I have AAA'd Mario and thats it. I screeshrinked, personally just leave the newb songs for now and keep whoring the hard songs, so that you get better at FFR while you practice. One day you will AAA songs untill then screw it.

yea, as windsurfer has stated, move on to harder songs and once you get the hang of them as well, you'll probably AAA simple songs like chicken feet. it's pointless getting yourself stuck at really easy songs.

On topic: I'm going to try to get Color of Battle and some other easy song, like Trip to the Moon. I'll post again if I get any results.

I also think that low resolution helps a lot, I didn't experience any problems while playing on high quality.
