Really bad steps on FFR

FWIW, I tried Salad for Your Tuesday twice just a little while ago. At first, it did seem hard to keep up with, but then I realized the arrows were matching the notes in the melody much of the time. Hearing it a little bit I got used to the rhythm of the melody and it became a lot easier to hit the arrows at the right time. It isn't color coded, so maybe that makes it a little harder and seem off beat. But having played this song a little bit now, I think I can say that the step file seems OK to me. It may not be perfect, but what is?

No offense to Synth, but the stepfile for Salad For Your Tuesday is REALLY REALLY bad... it is just irritating and not fun to play. It doesnt' go with the music at all, it feels offbeat, and it's annoying. There are some other songs with horrible stepfiles too. I mean the songs are good, like Salad For Your Tuesday is a really good song, but...

I'm very new at making stepfiles, but I KNOW I could make a better file for that song if I knew it was going to go on FFR.

What's up with these files? Why are they still here and not being replaced? I'd think that by now someone would realize that a great song like that deserves a good stepfile.

Or am I the only one that finds it very horrible or something?

Bad steps for a bad song. Come on people, listen to the song, it'll make your ears bleed if you do it too much though. Really, I have no idea who I was able to produce that song and still be able to hear.

umm....seeing as sync isn't a word...it's short for synchronized...so he just abbreviates one letter longer...

Anyway, to spazzbite I have to say: I realize that Synth works hard. I am thankful for what I have, but does that mean I can't wish it were better? So just because I think some of the stepfiles suck, I don't understand how lucky I am? Huh?

Come on. Lots of the stepfiles are pretty good. One Last Battle... I love that one. And Crysallis or however it's spelled. And I realize Snyth is busy and he works hard and etc, but what's wrong with pointing out things I don't like, or wishing they were better? I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I like a lot of the songs and dont really have a problem with them. I really think Archowl's stepfiles are well synced though.

He is Jello. Being hostile is his thing. Dont mind him.

But yeah, I can understand where he is coming from though. Synth and Friends do work play levels over and over...and whatnot, they know it is off sync...but there are more important things do accomplish first...like making me a sandwich.

Yeah, the stepfile's offsync. Basically it was produced back in "the day" when Synth didn't have the ability to automatically convert DWI to FFR. And so he had to punch in all the arrows by hand as he played the song himself, so really you're "ghosting" Synth's playing instead of actually playing on the beat. SFYT is a great song, in my opinion. Jewpin makes really good old school-sounding techno music. This, ASB, Club, etc.

And yes, the song needs to be resynced. Yes, I believe this is in the FAQ. But still, Chrissi wasn't criticizing Synth, she was pointing out a bug in the game. Which means 2 things:

A) she should have read the FAQ (sorry, Chrissi)
B) people need to be less critical. Especially you, Spazzbite. You attacked her for saying things she didn't even say.

Well, not just it being offsync, but the steps being horrible and going nowhere near the beat... especially near the beginning.

I agree Chrissi but honestly for the league, just try and tap the keys. For now, there's nothing you can do about it. Probably next version it will improve but for now, this is the way it is. Appreciate what you have man, so what if a few steps are off? Not all of them are, the music is good. After a while you'll get used to the tapping and offbeat. That's why I'm not good in most songs and only am in songs I play frequently. I want to thank all the staff for actually making ffr possible, it is an awesome game.

Also Spazzbite is right, I want to see you try and make your own game. Host it without getting any profit, paying so much money for the server. Get good songs and step them. Make a full-screen version. Once again man, Appreciate what you have.
