I thought Captain Jack was just disabled and re-enabled for the anniversary of his death. RIP

I remember stargroup had a file deleted of his, he mentioned it in a skype chat and I was able to play it like once before it was removed.

Apparently there was a song called Hyperactivity that was used during the 4th Official Tournament that was removed later on. I don't know why; honestly I barely remember the song other than the fact that it was later removed. No idea who made the song or the stepchart or anything else.

Here's the tournament thread with the songs for each division, if you're interested. Also notice how on the FFR Songs List there's a missing level ID between The D1 song The Rhythm Of Life and the D3 song Indulgence; that's where Hyperactivity should have been.

                Re: Evolution of FFR

To clarify, OMGWTFT0k3N started out as Gigadelic and then was changed to *Winning*.

There were also files that originally had different coloration before being fixed later on due to the simplicity of the coloring ingame back in the day:
                - Crowdpleaser's 32nd/64th sections used to be all red, blue, and yellow.
                - Nova Pulser's 24th sections weren't colored as 24ths back in the day.
                - Grand Galop Chromatique not only had red arrow syndrome back when it was released, it also had 37 2-frame minijack placements. Now it has zero 2-frame minijack placements and is colored properly.
                - Balloon Fever used to have pink arrow syndrome (it started where the 12ths in the beginning are)
                - Exciting Hyper Highspeed Star originally had red arrow syndrome after the 24th roll.

Maxx Unlimited was a removed level that was a secret level ingame at some point. This was discovered when foxfire had an event to find songs in an old engine version.

That is a fantastic read, something I have been look for for years, now. Wow, choof, thanks for attempting this, and I really hope you'll get to make it to the end!

                    Re: Evolution of FFR

Wow, I've been looking for something on FFR like this that might teach me what I'd been missing for since I started FFR. There is a lot of history in FFR, and it needs to be revealed and taught to other people like myself. I personally don't know a lot about FFR besides what others have taught me. Only users that have been here since the beginning era of FFR know the history. I didn't know that synthlight created the first files from notepad.

I'm not really explaining this in words that make a lot of sense. I don't really know how to say this but I absolutely love what you are doing. It's like a history teacher for FFR.

Thank you choof for doing this, you've got my approval man.

There's also a whole bunch of files that were part of the widgets (circa 2007 to 2008) and got removed from the system. That explains why there's so many holes before -songid 1000.
There's one thing I haven't been able to find an answer to : We had only two artists (Metallica, My Chemical Romance) that had songs in the system (based on that post by aperson), but never got their own dedicated widget.

edit : there's this mysterious post by Synthlight, that could explain a few things
