Sorry if I sound like a noob but its because I have never stepped a song from scratch before.
):
it's on your profile haha
no wonder you're still confused
edit: oh, so that's your issue? your mp3 not showing up after downloading? Try looking through your Temporary Folder. Check where you're downloads are allocated. It should be easy...know what directory you "Save As" your mp3 to.

Where can you find Temporary Folder?
I have already made a category called My Creations in the Songs folder, and under that I have a folder named Syntax (Elite Ninja), and then the mp3 is suppose to be there but I cant find the mp3 after downloading.

Are you using safari or firefox? If so, I wonder if right-clicking of the name of the song in the "now downloading" window might give you the option to open the containing folder. If that doesn't work, erm...
@ Asphyx
Real clever..!

I think it would much easier if someone would just do all the file stuff for me and send me a link to download the song onto stepmania that way I can just put steps in the song and not have to worry about trying to find all these stinkin dwi and sm and txt and ANSI and whatever else trouble there is in the way. I just want to put some arrows to the song

Hey Elite, just a question - do you happen to have Windows Vista or Windows 7? That .mp3 might be hiding inside of a folder within "Compatibility Files".

Thanks for the encouragement but I have to quit anyways because now I cant load up SM anymore. An error occurs saying...
"The folder 'Songs/Downloaded songs from FFR' contains music files. This means that you have a music outside of a song folder. All song folders must reside in a group folder. For example, 'Songs/DDR 4th Mix/B4U'. See the StepMania readme for more info."
So I deleted that file since it didnt have anything in it anyways (which confuses me why there would be an error about it), but it still says that error even though I delete that file.
Right click on the SM icon, go to open file location, open the sm package, click create song and upload the mp3 that way. Then you just open sm and create a new file through the my creations genre. Then to access the folder you just go into the compatibility files in SM. Thats all I do when I go to step songs.

I dont get it. That folder doesnt even exist anymore and its still giving me problems -_-. I love playing SM at school so if someone knows how to fix this I would be very happy.
