Comfort Betrays - EW - is this the song that I got for you from AILD? if not, do we have permission?
Crystal Wind - EW
Sword Strike - EW
Cool. Also we probably don't have permission for Comfort Betrays if you're questioning it; I was under the impression that the permission was blanket. So I guess hold off on that one for a while unless permission is verified.
DMYK: +?
- A few parts couldv'e been better. Like the part near the beginning, where its just 4th jumps
DMYK (ElectricWerewolf) [+?] - m33-57 could go with the vocal more, others are fine
Totally agree. Will redo those sections and resubmit.
Going On Spring Wind: +?
- I love this song. Always have. And I'd like to see some more filler notes where you have a few 4ths or something
Going On Spring Wind (Electricwerewolf) [+?] - rhythms aren't wrong, but felt some sparse parts are quite understepped, and want more doubles. It should be mid-FMO at least.
Basically, these would be descriptions of a jack-free clone of Blurk's file. I'm fine with that. Will resend for this batch.
Tops OP Remix - seems ok... but i can't hear it to be sure.
Toph's OP Remix (ElectricWerewolf) [?] - rhythms seem to be correct but I didn't enjoy it due to the kinda unclear song

After that section at the beginning of the song (I'll admit it's a little long, but it's probably only about 20% of the song), the song becomes as loud as your average mp3. There's a technically quieter section later where there's only piano, but that should barely be differentiated since the piano sounds as loud as it did earlier in the song. Consider queueing it, because there's really nothing I can do to it so it won't be resubmitted.
Eternal Nightmare: +?
Eternal Nightmare (cut) (ElectricWerewolf) [+?] - some 16th jumpy burst patterns are a bit jacky, doubles on vocal is better in some parts, IMO
This file was pretty lame, I really only restepped it 'cause talisman mentioned the lack of solo accuracy in the easier version and I agreed. I'll just release this version for stepmania but add stupid crap like spread-friendly runningmen that'd be horrible for FFR.
flying high - already in game for a widget
Tass, I don't know what you have against this. It's not released in the actual game, and FFR doesn't need more long repetitive (both verses have basically the same patterns for clear reasons) songs for people to AAA. But if you won't change your mind I won't have a problem with the long version getting in.
ice disk - feel like a bad song choice. song is very repetitive. file seems overstepped throughout
Ice Disk: +?
- What the hell was that jump every 3 16ths near the end? That's the only reason I'm rejecting it. Change those to some other rhythm and resubmit
Completely agree with rebirth, that part was just there to try and cut down on repetivity, and it pretty much failed. But Tass, I don't quite agree with your judgements; sure, the song's a little repetitive at the start, but the stepfile varies the patterns a good deal, so I don't see why there should be much of an issue. And Overstepped? Everything is pretty simple throughout, the hardest part is the broken up stream which pretty much has to be stepped the way it was (or possibly with an unbroken stream, but that'd be a little harder, plus technically inaccurate and more boring). Heck, the piano part is even understepped to fit with the difficulty of the rest of the file and with the instantaneous tone of the music. If you still think I should make the file easier, there's not much I can do.
Expect both revised submissions and new submissions before the night is over.
i don't have a problem with releasing the flying high file already in the widget... it'll get public on FFR before a newly queue'd file will anyway. plus, my biggest issue with it is widget related, and organization related. i don't want 2 very similar files in the same widget, when one is meant for widgets and the other for FFR... easier to have 1 file across both.
for ice disk... i felt like the melody was strong enough to merit it being the dominant steps, vs the layering in the file. and yes, the stepchart does vary a bit throughout, but it again seems based on the layering vs the main beats/melody.
for toph's... any shot to amp up the volume across the mp3? i'd rather have parts be too loud than parts be inaudible.

Whoops, I was being dumb and forgot that files automatically place themselves in their proper widgets. I guess since there's no way to seperate the two files (maybe there is but it'd probably be really hard and still screw up the database) I'll be fine with having the long one go into the game.
By the melody, do you mean the 8ths? I think that that would get boring a lot faster than what I have (correct me if you meant something else). Maybe we should talk about this one over AIM or something, because back-and-forth posting would get a little excessive.
I guess I could try amping up all of Toph 2. I could actually probably make the starting part louder than it is relative to the rest of the song, too. It's a shame that I can't do that with the second soft part, 'cause then there'd be no problem whatsoever. I'll mess around with volumes and have it finished (with 1.3s of silence at the start) for this submit.

Jacks of this speed would only be justifiable in a classical song or (though still doubtfully) if there was only one, as there's only about a 1 in 2 chance of it being a 3-framer.
I've always thought about making a file with lots of minijacks at the exact bpm at which exactly half of 16th jacks would be 4-framers and half would be 3-framers, and place them in a way so that they would all be 4-framers. I'd probably do it if 3rd style wouldn't eventually come and put all the effort to waste.
Geno, if you don't mind, can you please type correctly? It doesn't take that much work, and you would probably get treated better. While you're at it, try to familiarize yourself with FFR/SM terms. I'm pretty sure we'd all be up to helping you if we could understand all of your posts.

sorry haven't been here that long how do you expect to learn made up acronims like ONS and ****, **** if i know sry for my pure ignorance and stupidity and when's the limit for submissions for this next batch what time does it end at ?
- Your file now has to be a perfect, technically accurate wonderland, according the the vision of the two high-and-mighties jx and Rebirth.
- Even if the two high-and-mighties approve your file, it's all for nothing if Tass the oh-so-experienced-at-making-files-and-therefore-most-fit-to-judge-big-scary-admin doesn't like it.
- If you don't get your file to meet the ridiculous expectations the first time, don't even bother resubmitting; the Z team will automatically find a bunch of new bull**** reasons to reject it.
- If for some reason your file gets the same minor gripe from both judges, Tass won't even bother to play it, even if the file is awesome.
- If Tass doesn't like the song, auto-reject.
- Even if you do get a Joy Electric song in the game, Tass will make it offsync in attempt to frustrate players who try to AAA, and spite the sim-author.
Things are getting just plain ludicrous. By instituting this ultra-strict system that favors only a very narrow range of files and that is strictly in line with your preferences, you are disrespecting the different styles of sim-authors, and you are disrespecting people's preferences in stepfiles. Not everyone wants something to be a perfectly pitch-relevant epic, in line with the vision of only a few people. What could be boring or awkward to you might be the most fun stepfile ever to other people. Balloon Fever is widely agreed upon as a great file, but something that even loosely follows in its footsteps wouldn't have a chance today: "LoL oVArstPePpEd, dOez'Nt go tO MuZiK!!!!!1123"
In short, you favor the few and decline the many. Elitism is a growing theme: your widget slaves are the only people who have a good chance of getting files in the game. After my collab with dore, don't expect me to even think of making any more steps for FFR, unless you stop being ****heads by then.
A few last notes:
- I don't care who I offend. I'm pissed.
- If anyone else feels the same, I urge you to do the same.
- Anyone who tl;dr's this and blows it off as just another "wah you rejected my filez" post is a douche.
There.
