The current focus is the Official Tournament. Conditional Queue is being prioritized for the subsequent rounds, and psychoangel691 is doing an excellent job communicating with me what she needs help with. In other words, the regular batch won't be reopening until after the Official Tournament ends, as the song releases are focused on weekly rounds in this point in time.

Going to the above, I just finished up one of my accelerated summer courses today and I have two other ones that I need to address in the coming week which has affected my availability. I commend psychoangel691 for her efforts in making the process much more workable.

      Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v3

There are some CQ files with Pending Fixes that I still want to get to, although I have a massive Batch Search Engine update to do first. Many files have been released and/or judged since the last update. When that's done I can do a weekly update post, which I hope can be done tonight.

        Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v3

For some clarification in the regular batches as I'm currently doing some July/August 2015 Planning:
        - Acrophobia is listed on the Batch Search Engine but is not included in the sets because it is missing an .sm file and for a long time has not been resent to include the chart -- it will not be included in the sets for that batch period.
        - Resistance 8 was transferred to the High FGO Special Batch and already received a rating there, so in Set 1 that file will be ignored by the primary judge assigned to it.

Does Acrophobia have a .dwi file instead? If so, just convert it to an .sm file with the SM editor.

There's no file, just the mp3 and and an image file.

You'll be waiting for a couple of months to receive some user made reviews, which would be here http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play.php?f=101

After a year or two, an official review will be found here http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...play.php?f=102

Info about reviewing process in general can be found here http://www.flashflashrevolution.com/...d.php?t=142657

                  Optimistic.
I still have files I stepped in 2013 and submitted in 2014 that have yet to be added to the game.

Period for reviews and addition to the game are not correlative in the slightest. Let's not steer newer users away with information that's not entirely true, especially considering that batches are nearly caught up.

                        Re: Queue/Batch Discussion Thread v3

Considering the genuine interest in how the batch is going, I've taken the time to gather the actual statistics on the high volume of files that have finished judgment since October 10/10/2015 (so around 10 months ago).

                        Files in the special batches:
                        - High FGO Special Batch Phase 1 (29)
                        - High FGO Special Batch Phase 2 (20)
                        - Official Tournament Batch (83)

                        Total from special batches: 132

More of the interest here is in the regular batches from the users though, because that's where the "year behind" comes in.

                        Files in the regular batches:
                        - September 2014 (67)* [finished 10/10/2015]
                        - November 2014 (40) [finished 3/5/2016]
                        - January 2015 (35) [finished 6/17/2016]
                        - March 2015 (15) [finished 7/25/2016]
                        - May 2015 (6) [not finished yet]

                        Total from regular batches: 163

Total from both special and regular batches: 295

This means that in a period of 10 months, i.e. less than a year, almost 300 files had judgments posted.

*For some historical context: The September 2014 Batch was finished October 10th, 2015. It also went by the old judgment system, which required three sets of notes for each set of ~20 files. I had lengthy discussions with Silvuh that spanned around a month for an improved judgment system -- eventually in 2016 when Silvuh retired from staff, psychoangel691 put in a tremendous amount of time and effort for an incredible turnaround with a new judgment system that we use now that is much simpler and faster (the current judgment system is a modification of the judgment system that I previously discussed with Silvuh).

Note that 132 files received judgments in the Special Batches. Due to both a focus on the special batches and the regular batches, the regular batches slowed down. 2015 was a rough year with the old judgment system (Resubmissions and SAP were a gigantic waste of time and have since then been removed) and there were problems with judge availability; Silvuh and I were placed in a batch situation that required lots of manual labor before the Batch Search Engine was created. There were also several other factors I don't want to get into, although basically there was a huge hiatus in which the batch fell behind.

May/June 2015 is almost done (there's one set left and Gradiant is finishing it up), and I'm planning July/August 2015. The shallow thing to do here is to say "but we're only at July/August 2015!" It not only ignores the large volume of special batch files that were judged, but also ignores the historical context of the tough batch situation that Silvuh and I got into when we became GMs. We're catching up and judged a large number of files -- it just doesn't seem like that when someone opens up the Batch Search Engine without the proper historical context and sees the regular July/August 2015 batch with no judgments.

Was making a large post but Chrome is a huge piece of shit and I lost it, so I'll shorten things up a bit:

The current simfiling/GM staff inherited a shitton of content backlog that they had no control of, and there's been a huge dent put into that, as Dossar mentioned. Stigmatizing the process as something that is perpetually in delay is a bit unfair, considering huge headway has been made in the past year to tackle that backlog.

The FFR batch is still behind, yes... but you being the person to mention it is a little bit more unfair to hear, considering that you are one of FFR's most prolific simfile artists, and very easily have the capability of assisting further -- that is, you could be someone else that pushes the team closer to the solution. I understand if you don't want to, but, realize that your words are a bit more weighted considering your status as a simfile author.

Well you know what happened last time I tried to help. So I think I'll pass. Either way, I'm glad the batches are moving again. You guys definitely have quite a mountain of backlog to work over and I'm quite appreciative that it's happening.

I'll apologize for how negatively I put the process in light of it improving a lot recently, but I'm going to stick by my statement that anyone submitting should probably settle in and not expect a fast turnaround - even in FFR's best days, it took many weeks for reviews to be posted and even more months for accepted files to be added. That's just how it goes.
