Played a lot today. Dumpin' scores and didn't want to shit up the FFR scores thread, also there's some stuff in here I'm really proud of that makes it feel threadworthy.

Decided to start with a little nostalgia session. Going from "I can't read this and why are all the arrows pink" to being able to AAA it on my first try is some nice progress.

Pretty easy file, but fun for nostalgia's sake to finally go back and fix this blackflag.
Also this reminded me just how poorly stepped even the popular files were back then lol



This file is really fun, shame it's only known for its minijacks.
The 24th patterns are really cool now that they're not all red (shows you how long it was since I last played this)



Figured since I got this token by accident, might as well play the file.
Transition out of the first roll is rather rough. Fun going back through my old files and being able to see my progress as a stepper.
Can you imagine this was judged "far too hard to ever be put in the game" back then?
Imagine what we'll say about the current 80s and 90s files some day...

This was the best I've ever felt after getting a score. Not even that hard of an AAA but overcoming all the mindblocks I've built up on this file felt so nice.
Fun fact: I was the first person to FC this when it was first added. This was back when I was basically low D2 by today's standards and Shash was really surprised I could FC it without mashing :P

That fucking right handed trill can go fuck itself.
Left handed one is less of a problem for me but it can go fuck itself too.

In honor of making a bmah recently, I decided to go play one of the bmahest bmahs.
Actually nailed BOTH of the stupid 2-frame jump transitions at the end, which surprised me. Did decent on the big bmah but I feel I could do better.
First 2 goods were super retarded, I swear they were keyboard.

@D5 I'd love to know who can beat this. I'm sure there are people who can.
Felt a bit messy at the start in the minijacks but I made up for it by doing well in the end.

I got this and decided I was done for the night.
Right at the end of the file and not even on something hard. Sadness.

Had 5 coming out of the middle jacks, got 2 blatant keyboard goods about 90% of the way through, then kinda bombed the ending jumps.
Still a huge rankjump and it felt like a decent run. I'm mostly just glad to be able to read the ending now rofl

In case you think I'm sandbagging, keep in mind I have been playing a ton today.
Most of my runs look like this:

"Oooh, 2 goods clean at the 40% mark, I could be on my way to a new record on this file!" aaaaaaaaaaand then I die.

Played a lot more tonight; gonna dump some more scores.
I'll start with the bad/sad ones and work up to the ones I was most proud of.

I'm awful at this file relative to how I do on other 85s.
Working to very slowly improve my wristjacking.

The first boo was exactly where everyone would usually get a boo.
But the ending was the dumbest choke ever rofl I totally spazzed out because I forgot there was one last roll.

Man, my left hand is so much better at consistent trilling than my right. I can't even reliably combo this on mirror!
In all files where one hand trills are the difficulty spike (Vertex Beta and Strangeprogram come to mind, curse you Shash) I always seem to screw up on the RH one, never the LH trills.
I need to work on that.



My sadness is eternal.

Did great on the polyrhythm/32nd weirdness, but I clearly still need to work on trill transitions.
Still is a solid 2g improvement though, it definitely felt good.



Last tournament established the standard that D5 needs to be able to AAA this file or die.
I'm getting there.

My first FC and it felt very nice to do this relatively clean.
Great practice for awkward transitions to one hand jumps, which was always the cause of my misses in previous runs.
I bombed an unexpected section in the middle so no SDG.

After seeing Dynam0's post, I decided to run through the legacy boss gauntlet:

Honestly any run where I FC this chart is a good run. Took several runs to get this.
I did okay on the first roll/staircase/OH trill/vibratrill part, but then derped a little in the minijacks after.
Then sadly I kinda bombed the two long jacks in the middle but this was still a 10g improvement for me, so I'm happy.

I had 2 CLEAN on the big jack, by far my best ever, but then screwed up the next 2 bursts (don't know exactly what they are, should probably isolate them)
Then I stupidly got 2 more on one of the ending trills lmfao rip

WOW I AAA'd THE ONE HAND TRILL LEGIT
I had a single screw up in a 1414 trill before the big left hand one, and I slipped a little at a gap in the stream near the end too.
Still though this felt so damn good; I was so excited I accidentally didn't save a replay but you can see from the graph that I did AAA the long left hand trill ^_^



Wow, another improvement on this file for me.
I still bombed the transition into and out of the first trill section but this run was MUCH cleaner on the minijacks.
However the big surprise was that I legit trilled and AAA'd the two one hand trills near the end- even the right handed one!!!
I feel like a great run for me on this could get teens clean.
@D5 still would love to see other people try this. It's a great practice file.

Thanks! I feel really good about how I can do on speed-related high 80s, at least relative to my accuracy scores.

Anyway, tonight on "hi19 tries to AAA something in the 73-76 range"

This felt decent.

Felt solid, I screwed up easy places and AAA'd hard parts as usual.

Decided to try this abomination of a file again.
Seems that I always fuck up at least one of the rolls, but a different one each run.
This time it was the first yellow/orange one which I transitioned into improperly.

And this time it was the yellow split one that is usually regarded as the hardest.
(which of course I AAA'd in the previous run)

Gah. At least I'm improving but that one transition still haunts me.
And of course the last two goods were pure nerves. Too shaky.

Really difficult runningmen in this file.
This felt very good for me, actually. My previous best was in 20s.

Typical getting nervous and fucking up.
Still a good improvement but like... not good enough.

Dammit.

Watch the replay, this is pretty obviously a keyboard good.
I got it on a random easy place and my keytap sounded dead on.
The first time I've really felt screwed out of a score by my keyboard; I might need a new one.

Cleaning up old mashed FCs on 85+ stuff and getting some nice new records in the process.

For me, there's three main hard parts to this file: the roll/polyrhythm first section, the first of the two roll into dense JS fills in the middle, and the ending.
I can never get all three in one run. Here I do okay in the first section (3 goods is meh, I occasionally AAA it), COMPLETELY fuck up that one middle roll/JS fill, then do okay on the ending (I've AAA'd that once too actually)
Someday all three sections will go nicely and I'll have a nice low SDG on this. Until then, this will do.

First FC! Felt decent.
I goodrushed an anchor in the start sadly, so no teens PA.

I owed Luis an FC of this, feels great to clear out my old mega-mashed score.
I royally fucked up plenty of the roll walls, especially the first one, but hey, I kept combo.

Cool, cleaned out another old mashed FC.
This run felt decent but not incredible, maybe I could do better.
Dumped quite a bit there in the middle of the 3 sections.

rofl I totally forgot about that roll at the end of the JS.
Kinda glad it wasn't an FC run because then I woulda been pissed, but it's funny now.
Anyway I swear I'm going to SDG this someday soon...
I've gotten through the first part with 7-9 goods a few times now (though it won't be a legit SDG because I always have 1-2 averages as well)
Just need to practice so I don't choke on the ending when I do have my FC run!

looooooooooool I didn't even think it was possible to goodrush something as hard as I did on that roll wall.
Whatever, got token, got FC, profit.
I think I can reduce this score by 10-20 goods with a lot of effort, but this file is just so troll to FC.
