This is the only answer I can think of:

Well, according to the bible and christianity, the chicken would come first. Eh, i haven't read it in a while but it says something in the book of Genesis that on the 'X'day got made all the animals. Doesn't say anything about making all the eggs..lol.

Of course, this might differ according to your beliefs and stuff, so there is no real answer i guess.

      :Edit: Grammar..ppftt

How do you have a chicken egg without a chicken?

          The chicken came first.

According to evolution, the egg came first due to a mutation in its DNA during it's fetus state.

If an egg has to stay warm to hatch, then how could the egg have come first? If a chicken has to be born from an egg, then how could the have come first? My guess is that most likely, there was a creatrue similar to a chicken and it too laid eggs, but something happened which mutated all of the eggs, and made them form like a chicken egg, and the creature would have to keep the eggs warm to hatch, and when the eggs hatched, presto, chickens.

So i guess it could be either.

If your a devout christian that believes everything in the bible, then the Chicken came first.
If your a scientist that doesn't, then the Egg would come first.

none came first.. they slowly evolved.. very slowly over time the ansestor of the chicken started to have slight genetic alterations probably because of climate.. as do all types of animals.. they adapt to the environment and surroundings and change accordingly. so its not like one day a dinosaur layed an egg and a chicken popped out.. it happened over millions of years. my guess is that the FOWL came first.. cuz its the closest relative to the chicken, im not sure about it but i think the fown came first lol

The big bang theory has nothing to do with evolution.

One of the few things I am positive about is Evolution. Even if magically I convert to a hardcore Christian, I will always believe in Evolution unless Jesus Christ magically jumps out of my oven and says "Dude, evolution is not really" then I would most likely believe him. But until that happens...
