Is it just me or are some of the levels off. Maybe it's just too much treble in general. Or the snare, I can't really tell but it seems like it could be a lot cleaner.

The bass also seems kind of lost against the bass in the piano.

Drums could use a bit more improvisation, too.

It is very catchy and I like the breakdown part a lot.

The scratching is cool but could also use a bit more emphasis and variation but it's really hard to hear. You know, maybe it's just that, is the piano a little loud for anyone else?


You know, the repetitiveness of the drums, etc. probably works ok for a loop. You could make it loop perfectly.

Drums suck. Really you need to learn how to write jazz drum parts. Actually, you need to learn to write drum parts in general. The main groove sucks. And the ride cymbal during the second melody sounds so... weird. The ride cymbal is for, you know, riding, not for hitting every quarter note. And your fills suck.

Good choice for chords at the beginning; they didn't suck like your last Mario remix. But it's VERY repetitive and gets boring very quickly.

One you switch to the second melody, I think you could have used a thicker piano part, like, more notes on the left hand. But what's there isn't bad.

I don't like the staccato in the left hand of the third melody.

Fourth melody, the chords aren't that good. Well, the chords fit, but the voicing is terrible.

No complaints with the fifth.

they're all repetitive though. Boo.

What would rather do differently in terms of voicing for the 4th melody then? It's the same chord prog from the first melody.

the voicing for the second and fourth measures should go either down down down or down up down. You have down down up. So the last chord of the second and fourth measures sound REALLY out of place.

I don't know, the thing about jazz that I really like is that the different instruments work off of each other but that might just be a reflection of what type of jazz I like. I like a lot of syncopation and **** like that.

Hence the drums feel mainly tacked on and that annoys me for jazz. But then again, the track is more like an electronic jazz song at it's core than a jazz tune so whatever.


I guess my main complaint is that the bass is hard to hear, maybe adding some treble to it would make it easier to hear?

I'm better at saying what I don't like than suggesting fixes because I know zero about making music.

KGZ don't listen to blu and those guess there just jellious dumbasses. I mean that it was the best mario remix (besides maybe SSH's) I HAVE EVER HEARD.
