lol you're playing with the Arrow Keys?
You're gonna have a hard time with all songs, buddy. I suggest switching now if you think you can.

You're probably right, but I have no desire to use both hands.
Are there any other styles besides spread?

Hey, playing using arrow keys is pretty hardcore, if you ask me. I played one-handed for 3 of my 4 years here, and yes, it was difficult. But, I knew that I at least did a better job of being badass and trying to do well regardless.

Obviously not all one-handers are bad. Take SK8TER for example. He can nearly AAA BB Evolution (If he hasn't already,) and he plays one-handed. I can still only barely Full Combo it.

Another thing to keep in mind, if you do decide to switch to spread, your skill will drop for a little while, but as you adjust, obviously, you will get back to where you were, and only improve from there.

Yeah I don't really like to switch things up after I get a feel for them.
I'll up my speed mods whenever I feel I need to, but I don't think I'll change my play style.

For the record, before the crash I was all arrow keys, and I still sometimes find myself coming back to it for songs that don't tax my speed very much. Just today I AAAed Guitar vs Piano and Robotix on the arrow keys.

If his keyboard can support it, let him play however he likes.

It doesn't make much sense to ask people for help and then reject their hints. :/
              Try spread. Seriously.

And don't just play two songs, get frustrated and go back to arrows. Go down a couple difficulty levels, practice, and make your way back to your 'arrow' skill level. Then your ability to recognise patterns and FC/AAA songs will skyrocket.

If you don't want to change, don't expect to improve.

Before I retired from FFR, I played on nothing but the arrow keys. All the scores I got on here except for maybe 3 or 4 were on the arrows. However, like other people in this thread have said, you can really only get so good on the arrows and what not. After I retired from this game and played offline, I switched to spread and was able to AAA FGO's after like a month and had a huge skill boost on SM. I am all for playing for fun though. That's why I played on the arrows for so long. It was fun to me. However, if you really want to get better, I definitely believe spread is the best way to go.

You can play as you want but just to make you the game easier, try at least playing on a setup where the keys are horizontal, Yesssss is playing one-handed and he's very good at it but the progression seems really harder than playing spread, which is to me the most easy style.
There are other styles that are more or less useful :
Index - playing only with your index, which makes the whole thing a lot more difficult for most parts of the game (but it can be helpful on trills that are one-handed for a spread player)
Spreadex - Basically switching between index and spread to make some parts easier.
3-1 - A variant of spread where you use 3 fingers from one of the hand and 1 finger of the other hand.
Pettanko - Playing with your pinky and ring finger, don't try this at home, kids.

But I'm just saying that to give you ideas, you should just play with the style that suits you more. Keep in mind he game is ALL about acquiring natural reflexes and intuition that makes you hit the arrow automatically or instinctively, which implies you perfectly assigned each of your finger to a task of hitting the panel(s). Once you'll have that, no matter if you play on the arrows or on a more classic setup like ASKL or ASDF, as long as every of your finger will be naturally assigned to hit the notes, it will be nothing than just a little switch without troubles.
