I know nothing about the Japanese language, but from what I've googled you might be "To be Master" as opposed to "DeathMaster" (which is what I'm assuming you wanted, Death Note is quite popular). Just might want to double check on the meaning of your name before you go and get 8 billion points on that account and regret it in the future.

desu is a polite stem of the declarative japanese "da."

if you want to say for example i am a person you would say watashi/ore/boku/atashi/whatever (dependent on yourself; means I) wa (topic particle) hito (person) da (makes it declarative. without da it's still find but not as declarative basically). you can change da to desu to make it polite as well rofl

I used "newb" in the form that you're a new user, not that you're unintelligent. Practice makes perfect, you'll have to put it hundreds of hours to get really good.
