    Re: Age Problem?

lol people 15 and younger may not all be idiotic posters, but if ANYTHING you are immature at life itself and what it's all about and all of that.

So yea, people young may be able to post intelligently, but immaturity isn't just laughing at farting noises, it's your ability to reason as an adult or to deal with adult problems.

IMO, immaturity isn't a bad thing, it's just a status that you have until you get old enough to be on your own, think like an adult, have your priorities straight. That kind of thing. I'm know a bit, but I'm sure someone that's even two years older than I probably just knows that much more. So stepping down works the same.

So you guys are immature, get over it, you can't do much about it except wait until you're older.

      Haha.

      I'm 15.

I don't consider myself immature nor the same standard as my peers.

I'm going to have to agree with Bahamut. Age doesn't define maturity for all people, but for the general consensus I'm going to have to agree.

It's all relative Wind Surfer. Maturity is a standard defined by the actions of society that are acceptable. Therefore, the people you are around define your maturity through their actions. Just using this very forum itself, you can establish the line between maturity and immaturity, and then seperate the people from there. Now, I suppose maturity could go hand in hand with arrogance. At this time in my life, I could consider myself knowledgble on a certain topic, lets say sports. 10 years from now, I could look back and realize that I didn't know as much I do now. Therein lies the self-maturity, the way you act back then, compared to how you act in the future. This goes with

In this thread, it was not about self-maturity, but more of what I defined in my intial statement. A realtive one.

I can name many, many people.

Okay, to put it in retrospective here's the thing. I guess you could say that age does infact show how mature you are, but then that is basically stereotyping. Take Tps for example. If it didn't show his age I would easily come to the conclusion that he is older, simply because of the intelligence that shines off of his posts and his manner of speaking. I don't like the idea of stereotyping, but I guess it is pretty much true that the general group of my peers are not as mature as say some of my friends and I. Not to blow my own whistle, but I do consider myself a little more mature and intellectual than most of the peers that surround me outside of the internet.

For Example, It is still hard for me to believe how one of my friends still has this attitude where if things don't go his way he just won't have anything to do with the topic at hand. Maybe before I would've tried to console him and give him his way, but now I just see it as demaning to myself even to try and get him to keep doing whatever it is he's whining about. Now I just tell him off when he does something like this and don't give in. This seemed to work and these episodic events don't happen that much anymore.

To end my statement, you can judge by age and probably be right on the money about their maturity, but you can also be far from right. So don't stereotype, it doesn't do any good and will be bad for your character and persona if you do so.

99% of FFR reg's are mature, regardless of age. Mainly becuase we kill off the immature users. Others hide their maturity with humorous masks.

Seems like the issue is that when you made your account, you clicked on the under 13 radio button instead of the 13 or over.

Although, is it a big deal? Does it cause any problems beyond saying you need permission, like a password that you don't have?

                        That might be true Rita
