why is it that i still suck at the game, and have only been playing for a bit less then 3 months. . .and yet i'm at 10,400 in rank? i've seen other people's profiles, and they're playing much, much more difficult songs then i can do. . .and yet they'll be at like 300,000+ in rank.
is it just based off of the number of games you play, along with your total score?

The people who play harder songs than you but are 300,000+ in rank aren't newbs...they just made an alternate account.

Also, another point to make in addition to Shasha's
Let's say you're at a high level (Lv. 15) and you lose to a level 1
Then your rank goes down considerably.
It's not as bad as if you lose to a level 16 or a level 14, but it will still go down, but not as much.
Also, if you think you can get away with beating noobs to increase your rank, your wrong. Your rank will increase VERY SLOWLY.
Whereas if you beat a level 18, your rank will shoot up.
Am I right, or am I hallucinating?

Well, if it's based off of the Halo system, then yeah... that pretty much sums it up.

If you are a 15 and lose to a 1, you don't do down AT ALL. You must be within 9 ranks or there is zero effect, except you are given a win/loss on your record.

When ever i go to mp i never get lvl ups i should at least be lvl 3
