I think the difference only comes when you're a bit more experienced

Newbies need to think for every arrow, so screenshrinking is just suiciding. For experienced players, hitting the arrows goes automatically, so shrinking helps to see the patterns better

I noticed that shrinking the screen just under the "PERFECT" message works wonders for me. I can't even attempt to play without doing that now.

lol the combo thing in the way is what throws me off i tried movin it a bit more and what not but nothin i have to have the whole screen shoin to do any good

I can't shrink the screen because I need to see the patterns. I'm sort of like newbies in that I need to take each tap and jump as it comes, but I can see patterns, too. I just need to give my brain time to activate the sequence of movements that correspond to the pattern. I need to see the rolls and the crossovers and the jump streams, for a few examples, but if I don't recognize any kind of pattern and it's too fast, I'm toast, like in the last 16th stream of Nova Pulser.
