I've been using 2.3x on R^3 and I appear to perform best with this speed. If I lower it or raise it anywhere above or below that I do worse.

I don't think you should feel like you're slow. I've seen many using a lower speed mod. I have no clue how they do so well since the arrows are much closer but it works for some people.

I think screencut in R^3 makes the window size the same/similar to velocity? Not sure.

I'm a lot more likely to change my speemod by 100ths or 1000ths of the decimal, like 2.745x to 2.755x, or 2.741x to 2.749x. Sometimes I even have speemods like 2.77957. People might question if such a little change like that would make any difference, but it actually does lol (for me). I generally stay between 2.7~2.9

Seeing everyone's speedmod makes me feel slow. And the adjustment to 60FPS is a must. It makes it so much smoother. @XelNya thanks.

It's less about being fast or slow and mostly about comfort. That said I am only using 2.7 now compared to my original 2.1 before the fps switch. But you should also look into making sure your judge is as accurate as possible as well.

You cannot play well if you're not comfortable. Me, I practically have a melt down if my keyboard isn't on my blanket with it tilted to the left.

tried 1.5.....didnt like it.....tried 2.15 abit to fast.....went down to 1.94 and im gonna work my way up ^_^ gonna find whats best for you personally

Legacy/Velo 1.8x
R^3 2.4x

I used to play legacy at 1.5x for the longest time, i moved to 1.75x -> 2x. 2x was way to fast. I started going up from 1.75x, anything past 1.8x was to much.

R^3 - I started on 1.8x, but that's a different set up, so i ended up at 2x > 2.25x > 2.5x 2.5x was my speed for a few months, but i was having trouble reading it through, so i dropped to 2.4x

Velo was 2.0 when I used it

On R^3 I'm at about 2.8, 3.0 is more easily readable (read: flows better for me) but it hasn't been translating into MA/PA yet.

Playing R^3, since I came back last month I've been taking it slow and actually went down to 0.85x just so I could get the hang of the game again. Then I went to 1.37x bumped it up a little each couple of days and was at 1.74x all throughout last week. Just today I brought it to 2.01x because I ran into a song that I simply couldn't figure out, and now I feel like a main character in the beginning of an anime who kinda sucks for now but will eventually become invincible.

It was probably already said in the thread, but in the case it wasn't I'll throw this out there:

Push yourself to read faster speedmods over time gradually, as it widens your ability to distinguish patterns by spreading them out. It's highly beneficial for getting into playing harder songs. You'll know when you've reached your comfort limit. If you literally cannot adjust over a little while to .1 faster than what you're using without seeing a significant accuracy drop, you've probably found your spot.

I use ~2.0 on Legacy and on R^3 typically, but I also use screencut for R^3 so it plays pretty close to the same.

2 with a big screencut because it seems better for me than ~2.5+ with more vertical room
