The presence of greater evils does not justify the existence of lesser evils.

You'll hear this argument a lot when justifying bad stuff. "There are worse things out there." It doesn't work. This is most commonly used when combatting the bad images presented by the media, which I won't get into here so the topic doesn't change.

I am not saying Pot doesnt have negative side affects. I am just saying that when compared to Tobacco and Alcohol, it really isnt that bad.

People are also allergic to peanuts, but that doesnt mean they should make Peanut M&Ms illegal.

And once again, when I mean pot has never killed anyone I am making refference to there has never been a case like this:

well, another point to be made is that if jane was legal, dont you think people would turn away from some of the biologically worse legal alternatives like alcohol, glue, paint, cigarettes, cigars, and paint fumes that dont do much but kill you?

I agree with most of the views posted so far, except one. It may very well be a fact that majiauna's toxins has never killed anyone, but that may only be becasue users end up dying before the toxins kill them, because they were high and did something dumb. So the toxins never have the chance to get to the fatal level. I completely swore off all 3 about 7 years ago anyways, so I don't really care. Although I do think prohibiton should be reinstated. But that won't happen, cause as we know, corporate America owns the government.

well jewpin... you say that weed has never killed anyone by itself. there you are wrong. my friend was a good kid never smoked dringed or anything like that. then one day he up and decided to go smoke some weed with some old friends. since my friend had never smoked before when he smoked the weed he couldn't handle it. he freaked out and inhaled too much and couldn't exhale and died of smoke inhalation. he couldn't getany oxygen because he had the smoke in his lungs for too long. on the medical record the cause of death was "marijuana smoke inhalation prevented lungs from obtaining oxygen".

so all i have to say is that all drugs suck and all drugs kill.

marijuana doesn't affect neural activity therefore it can't be classified as either.

I think it can be safe to say that the side effects of marijuana cannot kill a person. Its all the other things that the stupid people do while under the influence that kill.

Jewpin, there is a big difference. Peanut M&Ms don't naturally spread out and enter your body without you even knowing it sometimes. Smoke of any sort spreads out and can enter your body on its own. Peanut M&Ms can be refused, holding you breath against a smoke to may not see is a bit hard if it takes multiple minutes to be sure you passed.

The cause of death can be traced to marijuana. If someone does a bunch of LSD and then kills themself to escape a bad trip, you can't say that LSD wasn't responsible for their death.

Marijuana changes your state of mind, which can cause huge problems, especially in judgment.
