    That topic.

Ok this is a really perplexing thing to me. I masturbate on a cycle of about once every 6-7 days. This is normal but I've heard that in the Bible it is a sin. Now I've heard all of the "If it feels right, don't let anyone stop you," routine, but I would like an actual quote from the bible saying it's a sin. All I know is that in the Old Testament it said that when a man spilled the "seed," he was considered unclean until the evening in which he could clean himself. The same alos goes for a woman's period as well. I know I'm not the only one who masturbates, so a logical, and mature answer would be valued. Also,

masturbation, is not directly mentioned in the Bible. Is it sin or not?, Tissot, Onan, Onanism, the uroboros, deeper definitions of immorality, purity and holiness, God intent for man's sexual wholeness and fulfillment. Christian Psychiatrist Dr. John White comments on masturbation.

This site pretty much breaks down everything about Masturbation and Christianity. Basically, it says that since God made our genitals for sex and NOT for masturbation, it could be considered a sin. Excuse me now, I'm about to go masturbate.

My bad, I had to be stupid at the wrong place at the wrong time. Religious beliefs say that is lust. Nocturnal emissions I believe is only a mental, uncontrollable action that happens while you are asleep. I really don't think that is a sin.

After you are around 85 and have no more drive, you can start going to church and start going back into god and jesus and cleanse your sins. These days and ages, this is where god would have to lower its standards to know why we do these things. IT would have to look beyond petty sins like masturbation and robing somebody for a penny.

Wow, this proves my theory that threads involving the words sex, masturbate, etc. attract more attention then normal threads. To answer the topic though, I believe no direct verses are anti-masturbation, but go ahead and check for yourself.

I do it about once every one or two days. I'm pretty much athiest so I don't believe the bible, but if you do, then I'd say you can follow it and not masturbate or not follow it and wank freely.

                      Re: Masturbation and You

See, the thing a lot of people don't realize about how the bible works is that it has two different parts. The point of having these two parts is to show pre and post Jesus rules about life.

The rules changed when Jesus came.

There are a whole bunch of contradictions between the new and old testaments but that's the point.

Take for example the eye for an eye thing. In the old testament, it was encouraged to seek revenge against those who wronged you. Enter: Jesus. He tought that you should love your enemies.

This can probably be applied to a lot of contraversial things that the bible has a point of view on.

Find your quote and find which part of the bible it came from. Chances are you will be able to find something in the new testament that contradicts it.

                        Re: Masturbation and You

You can look at masturbation as one of the many ways that people admit that they're not perfect, since people do it primarily to avoid one of two things:

                        1. Going crazy
                        2. Raping somebody

Neither of which would happen to a theoretically perfect celibate or married Christian.

The other issue going on here is that this thread began with the underlying assumption that anything the Bible says needs to be followed because it's the word of God.

I don't know nothing about no Bible stuff, but if masturbation is a sin, then that's all the more confirmation that I need that the Bible is absolute sh*t. Masturbation is a completely natural process. Many different species of mammals masturbate.

ne can not survive without food and water, but many men and women live healthy, fulfilled, single lives in Christ without expressing themselves sexually.
So, then if I enjoy the food that I eat, does that mean I am sinning? Because when I bite into chocolate cake, am I not experiencing a brief sensation of self-indulgent bliss?
