Everyone says that Marijuana is the number one gateway drug, but really, most of the people I know who went on to harder drugs started off on drugs like Vicodin and Robitussin (Dextromethorphan) just because they are easier to obtain and have even worse side effects on the body than marijuana. Dextromethorphan literally eats away at your brain from extended use.

Obviously the parent will know what they did, but will defend them anyways. It's the same in any case, I heard it straight from a mother's mouth. Some girl stole something of mine at my horseback riding farm, and my dad said to not even bother going to her mother because her mother would deny that this girl did anything. This girl is known for causing trouble and stealing things, so obviously the mother is aware of it, yet she would still defend her. I'm just saying, the parents don't want to have to deal with their kid going into jail so they will defend them, but punish them on their own terms.

Besides, any mother/father who defends their son/daughter in any wrong doings they may do is not doing any service for their child. All that parent will be doing is allowing the child to continue on with this behavior.

Sure, it would be great to have a parent like that, who wouldn't want one? But really, what good would it do me to have a parent that defends whatever I do? If it wasn't for my mom parenting me like a Nazi I very well could have moved on to harder drugs, criminal offenses, and I may not have gotten into Soccer. Even though it would have been nice to have her ignore or defend me in everything I do, I'm happy she does what she does. (What she does is called good parenting)
