Unborn children and 6 year olds may count differently by law, but for the sake of the discussion I like to consider them equals. Especially when the case comes into being dependants. Killing a baby just because it's going to be a nuisance is just the same as killing a pre-teen because it has been a nuisance. Either way, the cost benefit analysis is equal on both parts. As a dependent, I have jsut as much value as a fetus. Take that whatever way you want.

The only way this doesn't count is if a young child develops a talent for something that can benefit many people quite a bit very early on in their life. I'm talking like an Ender Wiggin meets Mozart on steroids.

I've never met a soul with said talents.
