I'm not sure that they suck, but I'm pretty sure they often push.

All of mine were impacted, and I do have a surprisingly small mouth. Just do what the surgeon says, don't drink through straws and all that.. Don't persist to start eating solid foods too quickly and just take it easy for less blood flow. I was extremely careful when I got mine out and luckily, no dry socket. My sister on the other hand did get dry socket, as well as a few of my friends.

I had all four taken out about a week before my second term in college. It kind of pissed off my work because I told them I would be in work sooner but it didn't work out that way. Had fun spitting out blood and almost forgetting I can't drink through a straw after the surgery.

Getting them out suck, but I am lucky cause I only had two. Recovery was not as bad since I only had two out.

I have 4 grown in right now.. going to get the top ones taken out. Bottom ones most likely won't make it to the surface so they would be a bitch to take out especially since they're probably not going to affect me.

You must post pics. When I got mine taken out, they gave me a bandage with slots to put 4 icepacks in. It was my best friend during the first few days.

I got all four out at once at age 16 so they hadn't grown in at all. First days are cotton swabs on the holes and ice on the cheeks + sleep. The medicine they used to put me under took everything out of me, slept while sitting forward in a chair holding the ice packs.

If swelling becomes a problem, you need to eat solid foods with your front teeth. That reduced my swelling like none other. Had one piece of bacon and nearly all of the swelling went away. As you start to eat solid foods regularly with your back teeth, be sure to use a syringe to get any food bits out of they holes. You don't want food rotting in there.

Otherwise you should be fine. Wisdom teeth suck to get removed. You'll make it through.

As a dental student and ridiculously compulsive brusher and flosser, I've never had any tooth problems, and when I go in for a cleaning there is usually nothing to clean.

However, I certainly remember the shock of my panoramic x-ray and seeing all four of my wisdoms impacted. Gah! Yeah, wisdom teeth do suck.

Yeah, it's brutal. I still remember the bliss of being on morphine, falling asleep on the chesterfield and then waking up a couple of hours later screaming bloody murder when the pain killer had worn off.

Good luck! Much better to simply have them removed and suffer through the after-surgery effects than the pain associated the wisdoms growing into your second molars and causing a complete malocclusion and or deep infection.
