After reading this a little, this reminded me a whole lot of Monsters Inc. The doors they used were like portals... am i right?

Here's an interesting one after having seen (unfortunately) Portal rule 34'd.

If you make it so you can perform sexual acts on yourself, would that be considered gay? Use of portals, obviously.

Seems we caught Valve in a little flaw here. In Portal 1, there are platforms which, upon them moving outward, would destroy the portal placed on it. These were in early chambers teaching about momentum, if you can recall.

If portals weren't destroyed when the object moved, what would happen if you put a portal on a board, threw the board so that it flies straight forward without spinning, then jumped through the other portal. Would your speed coming out of the moving portal increase because the portal was moving? Or would your speed still match that of when you were entering the portal?

If the latter is the case, what if the portal was going faster than you could jump through, would it be impossible to enter the portal as the second you'd enter, the portal would swoop you right back up? What would happen if you put the other portal on the floor and stood on it?

You can't put a portal through a portal. If you place a portal on the wall and try to shoot a portal through it, it explodes on contact to the portal. Kind of like the emancipation grid.

Also, what if the table was wide enough to barely fit into the portal. That would cause the table coming out of the red portal to already submerged into the blue portal.

The reason why that stuff happens in-game is because it's easier to code that way. They're not coding the goddamned Matrix -- they have to draw the line somewhere for the sake of making shit easier (portals exploding, disappearing on rotating/moving surfaces/whatever etc).

There's nothing wrong conceptually with the idea of a portal through a portal
