The thing is, I swear race has something to do with it. Before you try accuse me of "black power"or something, I don't know who rubix is speaking of. But I've seen people of certain races get long term sentences compared to people of other races. There was proof of this on dateline i believe, and it attracted so much attention that the governor of the state let the guy out of jail himself. I forget the story, it was long ago.
Point is, I'd suggest you pay lots of attention to the facts. Even if he receives somewhat of a long term sentence, make sure it isn't ridiculously long. If you can find an old case where someone was charged with the same thing and got way less of a sentence, investigate it.
My older bro had 18 months for something that could have been way less, so I've seen this type of stuff. My city is corrupt too.
