A lot of the shows started in 1991 and lasted anywhere between 3 years to 13 years. That's a lot of space to decide what to do with the shows between the start and end of the show's original episodes. Don't start where you left off because people wouldn't be able to remember what the last episode was about.

Maybe they could play the episodes the night before they release the new ones?
