I'm sick

and I don't know what I've got. Been throwing up bile, and before I was prescribed an acid reducer, it was acid and bile. I've been throwing up for several mornings at a time in odd intervals, though. Never was there anything else except acid and/or bile. This time, I'm kind of worried. I threw up some bile and I saw some red spot inside of the bile. Is that blood or is it possible it's something else?

If you're seeing red when you vomit, it might be a good idea to contact your doctor.

edit: Unless you can recall the last time you ate something red.

I may have eaten something red, but if I'm throwing up bile, doesn't that usually mean my stomach has to be empty? That's what I want to know, really. Or, maybe if it is something else even, I don't know what's going on and my appointment with my doctor is on Thursday.

Drink a whole lot of water, even if it feels like it's inducing vomit. You def. do NOT want to get dehydrated. You should also see a different doctor because if all he did was gave you an acid reducer and didn't tell you anything else, then he's not doing a very good job.

what alden said, but bile is stored in the gallbladder i believe. so maybe something is going on with your gallbladder? i would go to an ER or something if i was you, but make sure you bring something to entertain yourself you could be there for a while...

as for throwing up bile, eat something like dry toast for the time being. you have to force it down because the bile can erode your esophogus and cause some really bad damage.

It could be a bacteria causing that, or severe stomach acid. I'd see a doctor before diagnosing yourself though. Or you're pregnant :3

I had something similar happen to me when I was younger. I ended up having to be hospitalized because I was dehydrated.

Aldentron did sum it up pretty nicely but the last part about toast that Kellen [kmay] said is the best thing to do if you don't go to the doctors yesterday >.> throwing up bile is kind of on the side of the scale of really bad >.> you don't wait a few extra days to go to the doctors because in that time so many things could go wrong and you'll end up in the hospital for longer than you want to be.

I didn't mention everything really. The doctor prescribed me Phenergan as well, but idunno, he doesn't know what it is, and it's been going on and off for half a year by now, but this is the first time it's had something red inside of it. Doctor thinks it's either stress, acid reflux, or something different where he said he'd refer me to someone else.

Acid reflux sucks. Anything citrus, acid, fattening or alcoholic triggers it. There's a test to find out if you do have acid reflux though.

Had an old friend with acid reflux, I sort of doubt you have it because she never threw up this much. Although each case may be different.

If you doctor cannot diagnose you, then you need to go to a specialist/hospital to where they can test you for different things. You can't go on with whatever you have untreated.

could possible be very bad acid reflux. You might have a build up of acids in your sleep that get partially digested then thrown up when you wake up. Though in the end only a doctor can be sure.

Bile is secreted by the liver IIRC, but that doesn't even matter. If you're vomiting bile, you're not eating. I highly doubt that if the red spot was blood that it would be a 'spot' . Not entirely sure of the compositions of blood and bile but I don't think blood will bead in it.

(uninformed quick response cuz I have class in like 2.7 seconds, sorry if I'm wrong :P Go see a doctor if you're concerned.)
