I also hate those claw games. Totally worthless.

Stacker has a surprisingly decent win ratio for an arcade game. It's rigged, but the odds are not horrible to win and you are bound to win if you're consistent enough (and willing to dish out a little bit of money). I was literally in the bowling alley that had the Stacker game in the arcade I played ITG, and they won an iPod. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed that it chose then to pay out, considering I'm always able to make it to the 2nd to last line.

It actually all depends on what the major prizes are.
You can set up how hard it is to win.
Mine gives out PS3's Ipads, 360's, so the difficulty is ridiculous.

you can change the rigging settings, surely? (EG from 1-50 to 1-1500)

odds are the settings would be

cost of all prizes x2 / how much it is to play

or something like that

Basically.
It kind of goes like this,
If it's basically....a 1 in a 100,000 chance or something retarded like that, the price to play with be really cheap, like 25 cents or something. That's also assuming that the prizes are worth winning (or else who would try their luck at it)

If the prizes stay the same, but the difficulty gets easier, it's going to cost more to play, like at my place, it's $2 a game.

But actually, someone just won a 360 from my game last friday.
Go figure.

I won one of those stacker games once but it was in some really lame arcade so all the major prizes were sucky $10 prizes. =(
