    Laptop suggestions

I am looking for a good laptop in the 800-1000$ price range. I want it to be a good laptop for school uses, and for gaming. I do not want a mac. I don't know much about computers. So if anyone has any suggestions let me know. Link me to some good stuff

I will use musical lyrics for my siggy.

That's pretty decent and in your price range. My current desktop is from this company and I'd recommend them 100%

      What Kagome said.
If you truly want to get the most for your money, iBuyPower or CyberPower is where you want to be.

      Here's another good one: http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/system/X...8500_Notebook/

(Side-note: If you manage to win the lottery or something, I've heard Toshiba Qosmios are nice... but they cost a pretty penny.)

Nah, I'm Not a big fan of apple. I know enough to know I don't want a mac. As for me being brainless, well, that is just untrue, but to each his own I suppose.

              oh.

also, both the laptops that Kagome and I posted have full-size arrow keys at least, and if you play spread then A/S/K/L should work

Full size arrow keys will work just fine. The little ones annoy the hell out of me.

The fact you even said that means you're probably brainless and know nothing about computers.

To get the best deal on a laptop, the answer is really just to shop around. Even check out Dell's site as very occasionally you can get a really great deal. Some other places that haven't already be mentioned would be http://www.tigerdirect.com/ and http://www.newegg.com, but I'd say iBuyPower is your best bet.

Also, 3GB of RAM should be good. I'm running any game out there with 2GB of RAM. You're going to want to really only focus on your processor, and if it has a real graphics card on it. Post anything up on here you want an opinion on.

wtf did you actually just recommend Alienware? Yes, Alienware was epic maybe 10 years ago, but now that Dell bought them out, the computers are literally made out of garbage. I think I could literally dig in my trash can right now and build a better computer than an Alienware.

I'm sorry do I sound a little bitter? I have a $2000 Alienware laptop sitting in my room that literally fell apart before I even finished paying it off.

Anything that makes a good computer for school makes a terrible computer for gaming. Gaming laptops are possible but wont be cheap. I recommend a netbook and a nice desktop.

                          You can only pick 2.

Right now I am shooting for 800-1000, but I may be able to go higher by the time I am ready to actually buy the laptop.

PS: Even I know Alien Ware, Dell, and HP are crap. So I wont bother with any of them.

I think I was actually looking at that same ASUS at best buy a while back. It was 1200 though. This one is way cheaper.

Good luck with that, most gaming laptops are well above four digit prices. I had a long post in my head ready to type but Izzy saved me the trouble
