    My render station is running Windows Server 2008, which is essentially Windows 7, just stripped down. My computer here at work is on Windows 7, I also have a quadcore machine at home with XP I could test things on.

      I doubt your machines being multicored isn't going to help since it depends on how the software was programmed. Very few programs are made to work across two cores efficiently and about none can utilize four cores. Maybe there is some expensive professorial software for this kind of thing I have never heard of.
