But it is Vista just without the bugs or whatever right?
Not really, no. Most changes are done under the hood, and therefore aren't easily noticed unless you're doing benchmarks. The most noticable change is a heavily toned down UAC. I got maybe 2-3 UAC prompts in over half a year of use. It is, however, just a point upgrade from Vista.
Do you know anything about tinyXP?
It's Windows XP with everything except the bare basics removed. It's about 44 megabytes or something awesome like that. I wouldn't recommend it over W7.
Of course FFR was still running bad, all your hardware have Vista drivers still...there aren't any W7 drivers yet.
I assume this will help very much though http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/
I've heard it isn't any good right now, but it's still in beta of course. We can only pray ._.
You won't have a problem moving from vista to Windows 7 as it uses the same engine. Most vista drivers will work with Windows 7 and if not it just takes a few tweaks. Most graphic card companies already have beta drivers out for windows 7 so make sure you download them.
Xp to vista was more of a problem as the engine was changed to be more useful for the future of computing.
I'm in despair! This forum has left me in despair! OH YEAH!
I'm very happy with my Windows: Pirate Edition on my laptop. I also like having a copy of ubuntu to play around with which is also on said laptop. My desktop is currently running Windows 7, but I haven't used that in months and I think I'm gonna change it.
No, but it's a big hobby of mine. I just don't have much exposure to the new operating systems because I've stuck with XP for so long out of risk aversion, so I don't have much personal experience with anything newer than XP, really.
