What do you guys think?! Looks like those rumors finally materialized.

I don't think Microsoft is going to get obliterated by any means, as their platform envelopment strategy is already fairly solid and ubiquitous, but I can't help but wonder about Apple. I wonder if this will accelerate Apple's entrance into the netbook market?

Eh. Doesn't fit for my computing needs. Seems to be designed for extremely light work, and looks like the user will have little to no control over the system processes. I think macs already kinda have that market under control, so I'm not sure how google will fare.

netbooks are lame, anyway. give me a desktop.

I've also heard things about google making an isp and their own types of extremely fast internet cables. At any rate I don't see any reason to not put chrome OS onto a multiboot OS thing.

Well, doesn't sound like an extremely good stand-alone browser, but I think that it sounds like the OS that everyone should dual-boot to.

It sounds like a good OS but it's really only useful on a netbook. Duel booting this on your PC would be pretty stupid IMO. It's really only used for instantly booting your computer to do a quick few tasks on the go, and Desktops really aren't for on the go as most the time they're not even turned off. If I had a netbook I would get it but I really have no need for one. My OS already boots in under 10 seconds anyway, and on the average computer it's said to boot in under 20, and the next version in under 12 with something like a Single Core 3.0GHz.
