So I heard on the news this morning that YouTube will be taking down their music videos. I only heard it is for the UK, but I'm not sure if it's happening worldwide and such.

This seems rather dumb in my opinion.
it is obviously useful in bringing publicity to each artist and does so for next to free.
The idea that they would make it unavailable seems just plain stupid.

I don't think this will happen in America. The Performing Rights Society is an organization based in the UK and just because they can't reach an agreement with Google doesn't mean its US equivalent won't either.Winner of Wargasm's 1 Billion Score Challenge

We all know you enjoy IP infringement and all, but it is still IP infringement.
Copyright holders have a right to keep a tight grip on their intellectual property if they want to. You don't own the songs, Youtube doesn't own the songs; they do.

I think it has already started to happen, alot of the music I listen to has been changed to BS songs... It doesn't really effect me If I want to listen to it there is always Limewire or torrents..Comment
