Don't judge Windows 7 yet. If you deleted your Vista partition you're a dumb ass cause this is a beta and like any beta has a bunch of bugs. Even when the OS is commercially released it's bound to have some bugs just like any OS, they're way to big to perfect.


I won't be installing Windows 7 again soon, it looks like it's going to be nice but it doesn't run my games easily and smoothly yet. Stickin to Debian OSs anyway.

FYI, my computer was recently wrecked by an unknown error in my main vista partition, which erased the whole NTFS filesystem and made it unformatted space.

Also, the "but it sucks" part wasn't referring to Windows 7, rather just that fact and that it is probably also the display driver's fault. Windows 7 rules in my option.

how do i un-dual boot windows 7 from vista. i'm not installing it till i know i can get it off and not wreck the boot screen

P.S. i have 2 separate hard drives

To make Vista your primary OS boot, insert your Vista DVD at startup, and instead of installing Vista, click "Repair my computer" or whatever it says.

Then open a command prompt, and type in this EXACTLY:

bootrec.exe /fixMBR

bootrec.exe /fixboot

As two seperate commands. Now you should boot Vista just fine, and you can then uninstall your Windows 7 partition if you want to.

Downloaded an XP boot disk yesterday. Burning DVD tomorrow. Formatting PC to clear up comp and go back to XP tomorrow also. My 3 weeks opinion of W7:

It's nice, but it needs to support my ridiculous resolution (1920x1200), and needs to support all of my pirated programs.

Tried with a few other display drivers but nope, same result.

This is a big fuccen minus for Windows 7. I love the OS and everything, but this just makes me pi***d.

I have to say 7 is very nice for loading up movies and music, for me anyways. I use it in a small server box.

I forgot to activate my W7 within the 30 days, it turns the computer off sometimes... And I can't use msn :S

I wonder why I still can use the OS thou...

There must be someone who've experienced the same thing as I have.....if anyone knows how to fix it please tell me how to do it, I'm desperately trying to keep up my skills at the level they were before by playing FFR XD

Conclusions:

- It's not the display driver

- It's not Windows 7

- It's not Stepmania 3.9, tried 4.0 as well

Yeah Gameo, I have a similar problem, it's not just you. SM 3.9, 3.95, 4.0 flicker to a black screen and I haven't figured out how to fix it. Do you have an ATI video card?
