    Re: Remember to vote today!

    Canada: "Get out and vote!"
USA: "Get out and vote, but if you vote for anyone but ______ you haven't done enough research and you're an idiot who's going to screw up our country."

Some of you americans need to grow up... each side has its own vices and strengths. Different people will prefer different styles. It's not that everyone who votes for (pick your most hated candidate here) is an idiot or out to destroy your economy/foreign policy/foreign relations/personal safety/etc. Everyone has a different way of looking at things. Every vote is valid.

    Personally I'm rooting for Obama.

(not american, can't vote, even though it DOES affect me...)
C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile and never want to hate!

Not to mention that communism requires nearly 100% cooperation from everyone involved, meaning in a nation with 300 million people, communism really couldn't work.

No they're not. He's increasing taxes overall. You'll likely be seeing a nice cut, but he's increasing taxes overall. This is a good thing? Not saying McCain's tax policy is much better, but at least he's not increasing taxes.
This is exactly why I think his tax claims are awesome. Give the government more money for health care/interstates/etc. while alleviating the stress on my family and others like it? Yes please.

You won't be finding any of those folks here. The youth will typically only vote Republican based on facts. They're not easily swayed by stupid **** like religious-based bullcrap. They'll be voting on the ideological basis of wanting smaller federal government, lower spending, lower taxes, etc.
Good. That's what I like to see. Hopefully that will continue as we get older.

Anyway, to sum it up, I'm not one of those fanatical "Obama is the second coming of Christ" people. Yeah, Obama has problems. His voting record scares me a bit, and with all the promises he's made and the halo he's put around himself, I'm worried that if he becomes president, he'll try to put through some really radical idea that ends up causing more harm than good. But overall, I think he better fits my ideals than McCain, and as long as his Cabinet and the Congress keep him in check (i.e., don't vote with him just because he's a Democrat), we'll see a good presidency out of him.

EDIT: After reading Chrissi's post, just clarifying. I don't care who you vote for, but I'd rather you have a farily-comprehensive knowledge about both candidates' policies and history. I really don't think it's possible to make an informed decision on who can best run the country otherwise.

If I was American, I'd vote Obama. That Mcain is too old and I personaly don't think he knows what he's on about half the time.

Even though I'm 16 and can't vote, I honestly believe that both candidates would send this country plummeting into turmoil. However, I probably would have voted for Obama, because I think his plan makes a little more "modern sense" than McCain's. Which is funny because, going by beliefs and all that, I'm Republican.

Also, I could never vote for someone who can not even stand at attention, face the flag, and put their hand over their heart.
What does that have to do with a person's ability to run a country? You are not electing someone over whether or not they "act patriotic." You are voting if they actually prove that they are.

Fact: McCain was captured during war. This is not something to brag about. He failed his mission. I don't know why we go and award those people.

Let me repeat, He allowed himself to be captured, and failed his mission.

If you believe that we should be fighting period, you should do some research. The war is silly, and just wasting your tax money that could go to making the roads better, or helping poor families out. Then again, you are probably one of those people scared of the word 'socialist' and want everything for yourself.

How about we rebuild our own country before we go and try to save the rest of the world. You must be blind if you think everything in America is fine. We need someone who works for us.

McCain is pro-military. That is all I needed to vote for him.

I voted for Obama, but I have massive respect for John McCain. Even though I believe that his personal views have been skewed by his party strategists as of late, I still think he is a good man that has done good things for his country.

Sitting there and making POW survivors sound like they're anything short of Heroes is absolutely absurd, especially if you consider the nature of the harsh conditions that they were forced to face, while still holding strong with hope that the nation that they serve is coming to get them.

You're spitting in the face of every person that has died in the service of America, most with honorable intentions.

Yeah, really it's not his fault he got captured. The saying goes "can't win em all" for a reason.
