parkour is not basic acrobatics. and with the kind of logic that you have there would be no use for a thesaurus because all words would mean one thing and no other word would mean that word. thanks you anti-thesaurus jerk.

          Re: Parkour

I've been doing Parkour for a while now. I'm part of the Chicago Parkour community (Aero) as well. The Chicago National Jam is coming up June 28th if anyone is from the area and would like to attend. The Midwest National Jam is held in Madison, Wisconsin this year in July as well. I'll be attending both if anyone needs more info.

But yeah, Parkour isn't about the individual tricks, but rather how you piece together techniques to move fluidly, practically, and efficiently through urban environments.

For the jams, people are coming from all over the country to attend national jams.

If anyone would like to do parkour and curious to see if there is a community or team in their area, make sure you check the APK sites (http://www.americanparkour.com/). More specifically: http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php#3

Thanks for your worthless opinion. I guess everyone who does gymnastics and martial arts is a ****** as well seeing how parkour/free running falls right in between both of them.

          For videos:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xuVOdUuENYA - Jam/meet up at UIC campus. There's a ton of spots to practice there.

2007 midwest jam (Think there was like 70 people or something crazy like that)

You haven't lived until you've played pk tag haha

One of the more popular videos (This dude is in American Gladiators now)

          other stuff:

David Bell is one of the founders of the sport

Edit: Parkour and freerunning are two different things. Parkour is how you piece together movements to travel through an urban environment proficiently. Freerunning is about the individual tricks and tricking. And Parkour was in the Zohan movie and a few others, as well as in a couple music videos.

Instead of taking her out to a movie and buying her popcorn, bend her over the arm of a couch. It's very economical. Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.
