I say this in every pop thread:
The word "pop" comes from Detroit Michigan, or more specifically, Faygo. It used to come in some kind of bottle and the noise the bottle would make when it opened sounded like a little "pop"ping noise. Thus you have the word pop.
And anyways, Surge and Faygo are the only pop's good enough for meeee
I still have a 12 pack of surge

In Canada, we say "pop" everywhere. We also call Soda Water as Club Soda. Not too sure about Tonic Water, though...I think Tonic Water is a different thing from Soda Water.
