Another school shooting.... What is going on?!?!

So a gunman with a shotgun and two handguns entered a Illinois Campus and started opening fire at random people, no specific target. He was a student from another school and at this point has no connection to the other school. He killed four people as well as wounding several others. This was nothing compared to Virginia Tech, but dosen't leave you wondering if were safe? Why do people do such stupid things when they have no motive? I posted this just to tell people and to see what they think about school safty and if gun control should be changed at all as to who are allowed to buy guns and what else could we do.

Well this is what i think i want to see what others think so their you go.

Agreed. Some people use guns for stupid reasons like in street races. You shoot a bullet up in the air because you're too damn lazy to even say "ready, set, go!" like you used to do in pre-k and then the bullet ends up falling down at a faster speed, and the next thing you know a random person may die.

The American Bill of Rights was made in a time where it was practical to have a gun. Guns have no use for today except for hunting and law enforcement which are the only reasons I think somebody should be able to own a gun.

Very sad. Moments like this change my usually happy and impulsive exterior serious. Why do tragic things like this always happen? Is there not a smart person in the world anymore? Guns are not good in the wrong hands, airsoft guns on the other hand, are very fun in the wrong hands!
To everyone out there reading this, do not try something like this, it is way worse than you think it's going to be.

Well, I don't think they'd want to kill so badly they have to leave the country for a gun. They'd just figure out a better way. Like a sword! At least if we were all trained in some form of weaponry, we could defend ourselves. Not like guns where you're like, "hey, I'm way over here and you have no idea. Bang, you're dead." You might get the occasional archer. Actually, a lot of people would probably go archer. lol

Don't turn this into some "guns should be totally outlawed" crap. It is sad that deadly force is sometimes necessary, but loose gun laws that put weapons in the hands of dangerous idiots is no reason to start calling for every responsible citizen to turn in his firearms.

Also, there have been at least a dozen college shootings since the Virginia Tech incident. Where have you guys been?

That's what the police/alarm is for. If you still feel like you have to protect yourself why not a tazer or other non-leather alternative to a firearm.

I don't think that guns should be banned altogether, but limiting what kinds that we can buy seems logical. Keep in mind that if someone breaks into our home and is trying to cause harm, we want to put a bullet in his head before he puts a bullet in ours.

Also, someone can go into school and start knifing people as easily as someone walking in and opening fire with a heavy weapon. There'd still be potential killing.
