Anyway, I have to marvel at the kid's thought process. Did he really think that if the robbers were unarmed, then he shouldn't have faced them with a shotgun? Or was it that if the robbers -were- armed, that he should stay away entirely?

I'm sure the cops told him that he should hide if someone breaks into his house, for his own safety. I have to agree with that; you don't know how old or young someone is who breaks into your house, so even an unarmed robber could beat the crap out of him. It's better to lose a bunch of stuff than your life; just call the cops after the burglars leave.

That was my initial thought too. When those kids are approached by the police, they will probably be staring down the barrels of firearms now. Bad news for everyone involved.

The only problem is this happened yesterday and they got away, have no leads, nothing to go on... it'd be nearly impossible to find who did it.
