It isn't about being desperate, it is about they met and developed a meaningful relationship and decided to get married. I don't see what is so desperate about that.

They cant get a gf/bf in real life so they marry someone they meet online.
I agree with SpookG. Obviously, hydro, if you're just interested in sex, it's pretty desperate to find someone online, but you don't chose where the right person for you lives. Granted there are probably several people you could fall in love with and marry, but it's easier to devellop a meaninful relationship over the internet where you can talk alot without the pressures of sexual desire and social outings changing the way you act around eachother. I met my girlfriend on the internet. She's my first girlfriend, lives 8 hours away from my house, but we're so close that we've travelled to meet eachother several times. We've been going out for 10 months now.
Now if you want to call someone desperate look at all the people using the internet for porn.

Thats desprite.
I'm desperate now? My Boyfriend and I met eachother online- we've been together for 10 months and recently last december he came to visit me.
It's not like I chose for it to be long distance, but I truely love him- so why should it make a difference? I don't think distance should ever stop anyone.
