Re: another quake
I felt the quake. I'm actually near the epicenter of the quake. Felt like someone kicked my house.

Re: another quake
My brother was being retarded and running around the house while this happened. I jumped under my table and drank a soda. All the pictures in our house tilted about seven degrees in the same direction. Those facing perpendicular to the movement of the shaking all fell off.
Our area was hit pretty hard, the table I was under bounced up and down about a quarter of an inch and the table isn't exactly the lightest of all things and it has heavy objects on top of it. Had I moved my fingers or feet under the sides that supported the table, they would have been cut clean off. My chair did quite a bit of a bounce dance around my room.
It got really scary around five or so seconds because I was starting to think that this was the "big one". Fortunately, it wasn't.
Apparently, 5.6 was the strength of the Earthquake, my place got hit the second hardest.

Re: another quake
I felt it. Now there's been an aftershock right before this posting. This had better not better be the warning signs to the big one.Comment

Re: another quake
Well, this earthquake isn't going to make the "big one" any less powerful. I'm pretty sure it's put even more stress than releasing it.
But seriously, that after shock was crazy, spilled my soda.
The one during the night woke me up. I'm a deep sleeper.

There was an earthquake off the southwest islands of Alaska earlier today; after the San Francisco earthquake.Comment

Re: another quake
It wasn't a San Francisco earthquake. I bet they felt nothing.

Re: another quake
Earthquakes... reminds me of Physical Geology where we learned all of the natural disasters that can kill us. Pretty monotonous. At least the teacher was cool (he had a mullet ^_^).
Well, if the big one does hit, people all the way to Vegas will get hit as well, with obvious damage to the casinos and downtown area. Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange, Riverside, San Diego and some of Tijuana are not gonna last long once the big one hits. Add the Tsunamis that will be caused as well, making Japan, China, Australia, Hawaii and maybe Alaska targets as well.
Sorry if I dampened your spirits, but it's what I learned.

Re: another quake
There is also supposed to be a giant tsunami coming from the Canary Islands within the next fifty years.
Damn those canary birds must be pissed off at Florida. Glad my family and I moved.Comment
