msn, skype. what's wrong with aim? i'm not a huge fan of it either, but maybe your problem with it is fixable.

I have and use msn, occasionally, aka whenever it doesn't sign me out. I have skype, but I don't use it. I just want to get another program to run aim because most of my friends use aim and its just easier for me.

I believe it's the last version before they came out with their new resource-hogging, user-unfriendly Triton crap.

Sure, Triton is flashier, but it's also overburdened with useless features in lieu of ease-of-use and options to remove some of the junk included with it.

AIM v 3.5.3572 + DeadAIM v 4.5

All the features of AIM 6.5 without all the annoyances.

i use some variation of AIM 6.1.

it's got the stealth which is about the only thing i care about.

it's a quick download too because it's older.

btw, 6.1 isn't Trition either. i recommend it.

I started using MSN last night, and it seems to be working fine for me, sounds like I don't want to try AIM. :B

Simply go to www.aim.com and look for AIM 98. It works perfectly.

I know how you feel, I've seen people with the new AIM and it looks like crap to me. I'm so glad I stuck to the classic.
