    Flying vs. Telekinesis

I was watching video submissions on G4 about what super power you would want. Two of the choices were flying and telekinesis, and it got me thinking about my preference.

Flying would be awesome for getting places anytime and anywhere you wanted, along with plain being fun. It would also have good superhero opportunities, such as getting to a scene earlier, and also rescuing people from buildings and the such.

Telekinesis would be awesome because you could move almost anything, and when would that not be great? The practical joke opportunities are endless, as well as plain old efficiency in using it to manipulate things out of reach, or do jobs that are dangerous to do by hand. Imagine using it at a construction site to exponentially speed up production. It would also have great superhero possibilities as well, specifically when it comes to fending off a criminal or such, either by disarming them, distracting them, or incapacitating them.

I personally would have to choose telekinesis because of the greater aspect of crime fighting, but it's only about a 60/40 lead.

    What about you?

Telekinesis for sure, if you've seen Heroes you would see how awesome it is.

              Re: Flying vs. Telekinesis

Theoretically, Telekinesis implies flight. You can move yourself.

Even if you can't, you can move an object under yourself and lift yourself. Thus, flight.

A better question would be Telekinesis or manipulation of space-time.

Some abilities on Heroes are overshadowed by far more useful ones. For example, Hiro's time-stopping ability at its peak pretty much implies that he can't die, thus voiding immortality. If he does get hurt, he could warp back to when he wasn't, thus voiding regeneration. The major flaw here is one he pointed out in the show: he doesn't have super strength. Even if time stops, he doesn't gain any physical power. He couldn't lift a parking meter and beat someone over the head with it. Best he could do is swing a sword. Bending space = Teleportation, which is another confirmed ability. Seriously, he has one of the best. Though obviously, Peter's wins over all the others, assuming he has the ability to use two at once (AKA, Telekinesis while time has stopped).

yea this poll is almost pointless, with Telekinesis you can make yourself fly as well as other thing.

I vote for flying. Telekinesis might be cool, but here is why I don't choose it.

First of all, you have this problem if you are a student, it would be kind of hard to do your homework. It would take away the feeling of actually doing it. Also, playing FFR and doing stuff on the computer, sure you never get writer's cramp or carpal tunnel, but there is no more fun in typing or playing anymore. You know?

So, I say that flying would be better.

                          Re: Flying vs. Telekinesis

The problem with using telekinesis (with objects) to fly is that you have to rely on your surroundings to use it, as well as having to hang on to the object pretty hard when going faster speeds. Also, you wouldn't have much maneuverability in a chase, because this question implies that will happen all the time.

So it would give you the basic means for assisted flight, but wouldn't be a real substitute for having the actual power.

You could use anything from planets to flakes of your own skin.

Well I think if you were able to master it enough you would be able to maneuver pretty well. Also if you were in a chase just use your power to throw them backwards.
